Save local webpage snapshots, compare what changed, and optionally check selected pages when you revisit them. SnapshotDiff helps you revisit important webpages without rereading everything from the beginning. Open a page, click the SnapshotDiff toolbar icon, and save either the clean full-page text or one specific area. When you return, compare the current version with your previous local snapshot and review clear additions, removals, change percentage, and version history. Track only what matters • Save a clean full-page baseline. • Visually select a price, job requirement, availability message, policy section, documentation block, or other important area. • Create separate tracked areas on the same page. Reduce noisy changes • Smart cleaning excludes common navigation, footer, advertising, form, cookie, and consent elements. • Ignore changing dates, clock times, relative-time phrases, or standalone counters. • Add custom ignore patterns for site-specific dynamic text. • Choose how sensitive each tracked page should be. Understand the difference • Review added and removed text with clear highlighting. • See change percentage and item counts. • Keep a local version timeline. • Compare optional before-and-after viewport images captured during manual checks. Optional check on visit Check on visit is disabled by default. When you enable it for a tracked page, Chrome asks for access only to that website. SnapshotDiff can then compare the tracked page locally when you revisit it and display a badge or optional desktop notification for meaningful changes. Private by design • No account or sign-in. • No analytics or advertising. • No developer-operated server. • No remote code. • Snapshots and settings stay in your Chrome profile. • Export, import, or delete your local data at any time. SnapshotDiff does not read passwords, cookies, private messages, network traffic, or your complete browsing history. It is not a legal or archival certification service, and dynamic websites may still produce missed or irrelevant changes. An optional Buy Me a Coffee link is available in the dashboard for users who want to support independent maintenance. The external service is contacted only if the link is clicked.
