As you browse Chess.com, a rank badge automatically appears next to every player's username — giving you an instant, visual sense of their skill level. How it works Chess Rank fetches each player's highest ELO rating across Rapid, Blitz, Bullet, and Daily time controls via the Chess.com public API, then assigns them one of 9 ranks: - Unranked — 0 ELO - Pawn — 0–400 ELO - Knight — 400–800 ELO - Bishop — 800–1200 ELO - Rook — 1200–1600 ELO - Queen — 1600–2000 ELO - King — 2000–2400 ELO - GrandMaster — 2400–2800 ELO - Immortal — 2800+ ELO Each rank includes subdivisions (I to IV) for even more granularity.
