GifChop - Capture & Annotate Video Clips

Description

Turn moments you are watching into GIFs, with a full-screen local editor for trimming, adding text, and exporting. GifChop lets you keep a highlight worth sharing while something is playing. On a supported video page, you can save the picture on screen or record a short stretch, then adjust it and keep creating. This happens in the browser. The picture and the result are not uploaded. What you can do - Pull a shareable clip from a tutorial, a demo, or a moment in the video - Add text, arrows, shapes, blur, and numbered steps so the point is obvious - Crop the edges, resize, rotate, and reorder frames - Drag handles on the preview to move, resize, or rotate an annotation - Export a file that stays on your computer How to use it Open a supported video site and play a video. GifChop adds buttons on the player. Record a clip, set a start and end time, or snapshot the current frame. Shortcuts: snapshot S, record G, range R. Trim and annotate in the full-screen editor, then export. The editor keeps undo and redo. The interface can follow your browser language, or you can switch it from the editor header. Privacy All video processing in GifChop happens locally in the browser. Video decoding, editing, compression, and GIF encoding are not uploaded to a server. Limitations GifChop can only work with frames the current page can read. Some ads, protected content, or special player content may not be captured. FAQ Does GifChop upload my video? Also expanded support for more video sites so you can clip moments on more pages. V 1.0.2 - New local Video to GIF: pick a video from your device, choose a clip, and turn it into a GIF—then open it in the on-device GIF editor to trim and annotate. Everything stays on your computer; nothing is uploaded. Also improves large-file opening and multi-language UI. V 1.0.3 - Fixed a brief black thumbnail/preview flash when opening the GIF editor after recording or range capture, so the first frame loads more cleanly and feels less like a failed load. v1.0.4 - Improved capture button visibility so it only appears on watch pages, avoiding Studio/upload and similar non-watch contexts.
