Intercept and filter browser downloads by MIME type. Allow or block file types with logging and notifications. MIME filter intercepts every download from your browser and checks it against the rules you define before the file is saved to disk. Every download is subject to your own set of rules before the file is saved. Nothing leaves your machine and nothing gets through that you haven't approved. TWO WAYS TO FILTER Pick the mode that suits your working style: 1. Allowlist: Only the MIME types that you specify are permitted; everything else is blocked. 2. Denylist: the MIME types you list are blocked and everything else passes through. Rules can be exact ("application/pdf") or based on a prefix ("image/" catches every image format at once). Blocked files are cancelled while still downloading and cleared from your history automatically, so nothing partial or unwanted sits around. A FULL RECORD, KEPT PRIVATE Every decision MIME Filter makes is logged: the MIME type, the source URL, and the timestamp. Export the whole log to JSON whenever you want a copy. It's stored entirely in your browser's local storage. MIME Filter has no server and sends nothing anywhere. KNOW THE MOMENT IT HAPPENS Enable desktop notifications to receive an alert the moment a download is blocked. This way, you will always know what has been blocked.
