Enterprise DLP control that detects and prevents sensitive file uploads and downloads, enforcing domain-based access policies. miniOrange DLP is the browser-side component of miniOrange's endpoint Data Loss Prevention (DLP) suite. It works together with the miniOrange DLP Agent, a native application your IT administrator installs on managed devices — this extension does nothing on its own without that Agent present. WHAT IT DOES • Watches for file-upload interactions (a file picker being opened) and file-download activity on the websites you visit. • Reports the destination website's domain and the name(s) of the file(s) involved to the locally installed miniOrange DLP Agent, over Chrome's Native Messaging API — an on-device channel only. • The Agent evaluates your organization's configured DLP policy (allowed/blocked domains, blocked file types, content classification) and decides whether to allow or block the action. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO • It does not read, log, or transmit the contents of the pages you browse. • It does not send data to miniOrange's servers directly — everything goes to the local Agent process only, which your IT administrator controls and configures. • It has no visible interface of its own; user-facing block notices are handled by the Agent. PERMISSIONS THIS EXTENSION USES • tabs — to read the active tab's URL at the moment a file upload or download happens, so the Agent knows which site the DLP policy should apply to. Not used to track browsing history. • nativeMessaging — to talk to the miniOrange DLP Agent installed on this device over Chrome's Native Messaging API. This is the only channel the extension uses to send anything anywhere. • Access to all websites (http://*/*, https://*/*) — so file-upload and file-download detection works on any site an employee uses, not just a fixed list. The extension only watches for the file-picker/download event itself; it does not read or change page content. WHO THIS IS FOR This extension is distributed to, and intended for, employees of organizations that have deployed miniOrange DLP. Installing it without the companion Agent has no effect.
