Turns YouTube's messy auto-captions into clean, punctuated sentences, line by line. Free, private, works on any video. You know how YouTube's auto-generated captions crawl across the screen word by word, with no punctuation, like o n e l o n g r u n o n s e n t e n c e? I got tired of it, so I built this. CleanCaptions takes the exact same captions and rebuilds them into proper sentences, punctuation, capitalization, natural line breaks, synced to the second, because it reuses YouTube's own word timestamps. It just looks like the captions someone should have uploaded for every video now. You can also download the cleaned-up transcript of any video as an SRT file. Everything happens in your browser. No account, no servers, nothing collected. English auto-captions only for now, and if YouTube mishears a word, it'll still be the wrong word, just readable. Completely Free.
