Inspect API requests from a selected tab with clear coverage and local sessions. Joshu is a local-first API assistant for developers and QA engineers. Start a capture for the current tab, reproduce a problem, and inspect supported API request metadata in a focused side-panel workspace. Automatic API discovery is available for the selected tab. When you explicitly enable it for a capture session, Joshu temporarily attaches Chrome’s debugger to discover cross-origin Fetch/XHR calls without manual API-origin access. Chrome displays a debugging banner while attached. Stop capture to detach. Captures and bounded, best-effort-redacted JSON previews remain in extension-local storage unless you explicitly export or copy them. Use Joshu to: • See request methods, sanitized URLs, HTTP status codes, timing, redirects, network failures, and capture coverage. • Search and filter a bounded local capture session. • Review sanitized JSON or Markdown before downloading an export. • Review a credential-free cURL command before copying it. • Delete individual sessions or all saved captures. Privacy by design: • Capture begins only after you select a tab and start a session. • Standard edition does not retain request or response bodies. • Captures are stored locally on your device. • Joshu has no account system, backend, analytics, advertising, telemetry, or automatic upload. • Optional API-origin access is requested only when needed and can be revoked through browser settings. • Known sensitive URL and header values are masked, but automated redaction cannot identify every secret. Always review captures before sharing. Joshu supports current Chromium browsers, including Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Brave. “Joshu” comes from the Japanese word 助手, meaning “assistant” or “helper.”
