See the Greener Closet health & sustainability score on product pages. Greener Closet shows you the health and sustainability score of clothing as you browse, directly on the product page. WHAT IT DOES When you visit a product page on a supported retailer, Greener Closet checks our scoring database and displays a score badge next to the product title. On other shopping sites, click the toolbar icon and select “Analyze this page” to analyze the current product using active-tab permission. Click the toolbar icon to view a full breakdown, including: • Overall score from 0–100 • Plain-language impact labels for microplastics, PFAS, material half-life, energy use, azo dyes, and shedding • Material composition • Certifications such as OEKO-TEX and GOTS • A link to the product page on greenercloset.com If a product has not been analyzed yet, the extension queues it for analysis. The badge will update from “Analyzing…” to a score, typically within 30–90 seconds. You can continue browsing while the analysis runs. HOW WE SCORE Each product starts with a score of 100. We apply penalties based on the materials present, weighted by their proportion and the following health and sustainability factors: • Microplastics: 45% • PFAS: 15% • Material half-life: 15% • Energy use: 10% • Azo dyes: 10% • Shedding: 5% Certifications may add a small bonus. Final scores are limited to a range of 0–100. We can only analyze the information disclosed on the product page. When a brand does not provide material composition or certification details, we cannot include that information in the score. SUPPORTED SHOPPING SITES The score badge appears automatically on supported clothing retailer product pages. On other shopping sites, open the toolbar and choose "Analyze this page." WHAT WE DO NOT DO • We do not transmit retailer page content to our servers. The extension inspects the product URL and product-title element locally to determine whether and where to display the badge. • We do not read retailer cookies. The extension runs in an isolated context. • We do not include third-party tracking or advertising SDKs. • We do not connect your greenercloset.com account to the extension. Version 1 of the extension operates anonymously. • We do not run automatically on websites outside the supported retailer list. On other sites, the extension runs only after you click “Analyze this page.” PRIVACY We store the canonical product URL for supported product pages, a SHA-256 hash of your IP address rather than the raw IP address, your user-agent string, and request timestamps associated with analysis and telemetry requests. We use this information only to: • Return product scores • Queue new product analyses • Prevent abuse • Measure extension reliability Read the complete extension privacy policy: https://greenercloset.com/legal/extension-privacy OPEN ABOUT WHAT’S NEW Greener Closet is in active development. The extension popup includes a small “Self-test” panel that shows: • Which retailer adapter matched • Whether the page was recognized as a product page • What information was cached for the current URL If a badge fails to appear, the Self-test panel can help explain why. If you find a supported retailer page where the badge does not appear, please let us know. We can often update the retailer adapter to support the new page layout quickly.
