Description
A configurable tool to collect form fields and attach standard queries for review. Are you tired of manually copying and pasting data from Xero Tax forms? Do you find yourself typing the same review questions over and over? The Xero Form Collector is a powerful browser extension designed exclusively for accountants and bookkeepers to dramatically speed up the tax return review process. With just one click, you can capture any field's value, attach a standard or custom query, and build a clean, review-ready report—all without ever leaving the Xero Tax interface. Key Features: One-Click Data Capture: Blue arrow buttons appear next to every field on a Xero Tax form. Simply click an arrow to instantly capture the field's label and its value. Standard & Custom Queries: Stop re-typing common questions! When you capture a field, a list of pre-defined, relevant queries appears. Select one to attach it instantly. Use the Options page to add your own custom questions for any field to match your firm's specific review procedures. Live Sidebar View: All collected fields and their queries are instantly visible in a clean, organized sidebar. See your review notes build in real-time as you work through the form. Easy Exporting: The "Copy All Text" button formats all your collected notes into a perfectly structured, clipboard-ready report. Paste it directly into your review software, email, or internal documents. Seamless Navigation: The extension automatically detects when you switch between clients or different sections of a return (like Income to Deductions), ensuring the collection tools are always ready when you are. Smart Value Detection: Intelligently captures values from all types of fields—currency, text inputs, dropdowns, and simple labels. Your Data Security is Our Top Priority We understand the sensitive nature of financial data. The Xero Form Collector was built with a "privacy-first" architecture: 100% Local Processing: All extension activity happens directly within your browser. No data is ever sent to or stored on any external servers. Secure Browser Storage: Your collected notes and custom questions are saved securely in your browser's own local storage (chrome.storage). This data does not leave your machine and is sandboxed from other websites and extensions. No Cloud, No External Accounts: The extension does not require you to create an account or connect to any third-party services. It works entirely offline within your browser environment. You can work with complete peace of mind, knowing that your client's financial information remains confidential and under your control. Currently Supported Forms: This version is optimized for the Australian Xero Tax Individual (ITR) and Company (CTR) return forms. Request More Forms! Is there another form on Xero or another accounting platform you'd like to see supported? We are actively developing the Xero Form Collector and welcome user feedback.
