CAPE - Advanced Privacy Protection

Description

CAPE: Comprehensive AI Privacy Extension with Azure backend integration for ChatGPT, DeepSeek, and GitHub Copilot. CAPE (Comprehensive AI Privacy Extension) is a cutting-edge browser extension designed to protect personal, professional, and organizational data when interacting with AI platforms such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, DeepSeek, and others. As AI models become more advanced, the risk of unintentionally leaking sensitive information—including email addresses, credentials, personally identifiable information (PII), and confidential business assets—has increased significantly. CAPE addresses these risks by providing an enterprise-grade privacy protection layer that actively scans, detects, and pseudonymizes sensitive data in real time before it ever leaves the user's device. What CAPE Offers: Real-time detection of personally identifiable information (PII), secrets, access credentials, and proprietary business content. Pseudonymization of sensitive text inputs using secure AI-driven token mapping (e.g., "John Smith" → "NAME_001"). Zero-trust session architecture with no permanent storage or transmission of raw input. Multi-platform compatibility with ChatGPT, DeepSeek, GitHub Copilot, and other LLM-based services. Interactive audit interface to visualize detected risk categories, tokenized mappings, and severity levels. Seamless integration with Azure AI Language Services, OpenAI GPT models, and Hugging Face CaPE for layered security classification and entity recognition. Key Features: AI-enhanced privacy filter leveraging Azure, OpenAI, and Hugging Face models. Detection of critical data types including email addresses, full names, Social Security Numbers (SSNs), credit card details, API keys, source code, and more. Automatic redaction and sanitization of text prior to submission to any large language model (LLM). Supports multiple AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude, and DeepSeek. Designed with local-first processing and optional API fallback to maintain user control. Provides detailed output with risk summaries and structured pseudonymization logs. Intended Users: Software developers using generative AI tools to handle sensitive codebases or internal data. Security-conscious teams operating within regulated industries or high-compliance environments. Enterprise organizations pursuing AI compliance standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, or SOC 2. Individual users seeking proactive protection while engaging with AI platforms. Why Choose CAPE: Built on a security-first architecture with enterprise-readiness and compliance as core design principles. Provides transparency and control over data flows, enhancing user trust in LLM deployments. Combines advanced capabilities from Azure AI Language Detection, OpenAI GPT-4/GPT-4o, and Hugging Face CaPE in a unified, intelligent detection engine. How CAPE Works: The user enters a prompt into an AI assistant (e.g., ChatGPT). CAPE intercepts the text input before submission. The extension scans the input for sensitive or high-risk content (e.g., names, emails, API keys). If such content is identified, it is replaced with pseudonymized tokens. The sanitized version is sent to the LLM, preserving user privacy. A visual audit panel allows the user to inspect the token map and any flagged risks. At no point is sensitive user data stored, logged, or transmitted to unauthorized endpoints. CAPE is built from the ground up with privacy-by-design principles.
