Manifest V3 password generator: cryptographically secure passwords with length, charset, and history. Password Generator Next creates strong, random passwords in one click from the toolbar popup — entirely in your browser, with no servers and no account required. KEY FEATURES • Cryptographically secure generation — uses the Web Crypto API (crypto.getRandomValues) • Length control — from 8 to 64 characters (default: 16) • Character sets — uppercase, lowercase, digits, and symbols • Exclude ambiguous characters — optional filter for 0, O, I, l, 1 • Strength indicator — weak, fair, good, or strong • One-click copy — generate and copy from the popup • Local history — optional list of recent passwords; click any entry to copy again • Configurable history limit — 0 to 50 entries, or disable history completely • Light / Dark / System theme for popup and settings HOW IT WORKS 1. Click the extension icon in the toolbar. 2. Adjust length and character options if needed. 3. Tap Generate to create a new password. 4. Tap Copy to paste it into any form or password manager. Passwords are created locally with the Web Crypto API. Settings and optional history are stored in chrome.storage.local on your device. Generated passwords never leave your browser and are not sent to any server. The developer does not operate a backend and does not receive your passwords. IMPORTANT • Use a password manager for long-term storage — history is a convenience feature, not a vault. • History is stored only in this browser and is not synced. • Clear history anytime from the popup or set the limit to 0 in Settings. • For maximum security, regenerate after copying if you share your screen.
