YouTube opens only for a video you clicked from Google Search. Feeds, shorts and channels stay shut. YouShant allows exactly one thing: a YouTube video you deliberately searched for on Google and clicked. Everything else is closed. The home page. Subscriptions. Trending. Shorts. Channels. Playlists. The site's own search box. The recommendation you were about to click beside the video you actually wanted. All of it returns a block page instead. There is no override. No unlock phrase, no ten-minute pass, no streak to maintain, nothing to earn back. If you genuinely want the rest of YouTube, you disable the extension by hand — a deliberate act, which is the whole idea. HOW IT WORKS 1. Search for the video on Google. 2. Click the YouTube result. That video opens. 3. Nothing else does. The approval covers that one video, in that one tab, and expires when you close it. Naming what you want is the toll. Almost nobody opens the front page on purpose, and that is the visit this stops. WHAT IS BLOCKED - The home page and every feed, including subscriptions and trending - Shorts - Channel pages, playlists and the site's own search results - Recommended videos, including autoplay to the next one - Players embedded on other websites - The separate music, kids and TV apps, and the embed-only player domain Live chat is the one deliberate exception: reach a livestream or premiere through Google and chat works normally, so you can take part. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO - No account needed, no sign-in, no sync - No analytics, no telemetry, no tracking of any kind - Nothing is sent anywhere. There is no server; the extension has no way to talk to one - Your browsing history is never read, stored or transmitted The only thing it remembers is a single short-lived note that you just clicked a particular video, held in session storage and thrown away when the browser closes, plus one setting: how long that click stays valid. HONEST LIMITS - Extensions are disabled in Incognito by default. Turn on "Allow in Incognito" or the gate is not there. - It covers this browser only, not the mobile app or another browser. - You can always switch it off.
