Hides your saved address, phone, email, name, and social handles on any page — encrypted locally for safe streaming. Your address doesn't have to be on screen for long to be a problem. A tab left open on a delivery confirmation. An autofilled checkout page. An email preview in the corner of a window. A single frame is enough, and once it's out there, it's out there. Address Guard hides your personal details on every page you open, before anyone sees them. It was built for streamers, but it's just as useful for anyone who shares their screen: recording tutorials, presenting in meetings, or helping someone over a video call. WHAT IT HIDES You enter what you want protected and it handles the rest. Nothing is required, so fill in only what matters to you. ADDRESSES (up to 3) House or apartment number, street, city, state or province, and postal code. Three slots covers a home address, a work address, and somewhere like a PO box or a family member's place. PHONE NUMBERS (up to 5) EMAIL ADDRESSES (up to 10) NAMES (up to 3) Your real name, if you stream under a handle. SOCIAL HANDLES (up to 5) Matched with or without the @ symbol. CUSTOM WORDS OR PHRASES (up to 10) For anything the other categories don't cover. An employer, a school, a landlord's name, a private Discord server, a project you haven't announced yet. Anything you leave blank is simply ignored. IT CATCHES WHAT PAGES ACTUALLY PRINT This is the part that decides whether a tool like this works in practice. Websites almost never write your details the way you typed them, so Address Guard doesn't expect them to. STREET ABBREVIATIONS Save "Main Street" and it also catches "Main St" and "Main St." The full USPS abbreviation set is covered, so Avenue and Ave, Boulevard and Blvd, Road and Rd, Court and Ct, Parkway and Pkwy, Heights and Hts, Crossing and Xing, and roughly eighty more. STATE NAMES AND ABBREVIATIONS Pick your state and it catches both forms. Save Texas and it also catches TX. This works for whichever state you choose, not just a handful. PHONE NUMBER FORMATTING One saved number matches all of these: 555-123-4567, (555) 123-4567, 555.123.4567, 5551234567, and +1 555-123-4567. It matches on the digits rather than the punctuation, and it is not limited to US numbers. Any country code and any number length works. POSTAL CODES WORLDWIDE Not just five digit US ZIP codes. Alphanumeric codes like SW1A 2AA are handled, and addresses that don't use a state or province at all are fully supported. PARTIAL MATCHES A page showing only your city and postal code still gets caught, not just the full address written out in one line. CAPITALISATION Matching ignores case, so it makes no difference how a page writes it. EMBEDDED WIDGETS AND WEB COMPONENTS Modern sites often render content inside shadow DOM, which most extensions cannot see into at all. Address Guard scans inside it, including nested components and ones created after the page has already loaded. FORM FIELDS An address autofilled into a checkout page is blurred too. The value inside the field is never modified, so the page still submits exactly what you typed. Click into a field and it unblurs so you can keep working. PAGES THAT CHANGE AS YOU WATCH Live chat, infinite scroll, and anything that loads content after the page appears are all covered. New content is checked as it arrives. AND THE LOCATION YOU REPORT Hiding text handles what is printed on a page. Your location can give you away without any text being involved, so Address Guard covers that too. Turn it on and any site that asks your browser where you are receives a location you picked instead of your real one. Spin the globe and tap a city, or type exact coordinates if you want somewhere specific. Each city shows its current local time, which helps you pick something plausible for the hour you're streaming at. Your real position is never read, stored, or sent anywhere. ONE HONEST LIMIT This does not hide your IP address. Many sites work out roughly where you are from your IP rather than by asking your browser, and no extension can change that. Treat it as one layer of location privacy rather than all of it. BUILT FOR GOING LIVE STREAMING MODE One switch that blocks every way of revealing your details, including entering the correct PIN. Turn it on before you go live and nothing you or anyone else does in the extension can put your information on screen. It also immediately ends any reveal session already running. The whole window turns red while it's active, so a single glance tells you whether it's armed. A LIVE COUNT The toolbar icon shows how many things are hidden on the page you're currently on. Not a vague "it's on" indicator, an actual number. Green means it's working, amber means it's paused, grey means it's locked. INSTANT LOCK Press Ctrl+Shift+L, or Cmd+Shift+L on a Mac, to clear everything from memory immediately from anywhere. No need to open the extension or even find it. The shortcut can be changed at chrome://extensions/shortcuts. NO FLASH ON LOAD Redaction runs before a page paints rather than after, so your details don't appear for a moment while something loads. VERIFY MODE Sometimes you need to check that a hidden item is the right one. Is that your email it's covering, or a different one? Verify mode reveals individual items temporarily so you can confirm. It's gated behind your PIN, shows a countdown, and re-hides everything automatically when time runs out. You can set how long it lasts, from 30 seconds to 5 minutes. It's designed for checking your setup before you go live rather than during. A STATUS DISPLAY YOU CAN READ AT A GLANCE The main screen shows exactly what state the extension is in: Protecting, Paused, Locked, or Streaming, with a color and a live count to match. YOUR DATA NEVER LEAVES YOUR COMPUTER There is no account. No sign-in. No server. No analytics, no tracking, no advertising, no third parties of any kind. Nothing is uploaded, and no copy of your information exists anywhere except on your own machine. REAL ENCRYPTION Everything you save is encrypted with AES-GCM before it is written to disk. The key is derived from a PIN you choose using PBKDF2 at 150,000 iterations. Your PIN is never stored in readable form anywhere. A PIN THAT SUITS YOU Choose 4 or 6 digits. You can change it at any time, and switch length while you do. A RECOVERY CODE You get a one-time recovery code when you set up. Either your PIN or that code can unlock your data, so forgetting your PIN doesn't mean losing everything. Copy it or download it as a file. If you ever use it, a fresh one is issued and the old one stops working. IT LOCKS ITSELF Auto-lock clears your details from memory after your computer has been idle for a period you choose, or when your screen locks. You can set it to 1, 5, 15, or 30 minutes, or turn it off entirely. IT SLOWS DOWN GUESSING Repeated wrong PIN attempts trigger a cooldown that grows each time, so nobody sitting at your unlocked laptop can work through the possibilities by hand. NOTHING IS SHOWN WITHOUT ASKING Opening the extension never displays your saved details. You land on a neutral screen, and seeing anything requires entering your PIN again. Even then, each field stays masked until you reveal it individually, and re-masks the moment you click away. Opening the extension by accident mid-stream shows nothing. THE HONEST TRADEOFF Because the encryption is real, losing both your PIN and your recovery code means your saved data cannot be recovered. Not by you, and not by us. There is no copy anywhere else and no reset. That is the direct consequence of it being properly encrypted rather than merely hidden, and it's better to know up front. TUNE IT TO FIT CATEGORY SWITCHES Turn off any category without deleting what you saved. Useful if you want addresses hidden but not names, for example. EXCLUDED SITES Mark specific sites to never scan at all. There's a one-tap switch for the site you're currently on, and a list you can manage directly. MATCHING THAT WON'T OVER-REACH If your city is a common word like Reading, or your first name is something like Summer, a naive tool would redact half the internet. Two settings fix that. "Only hide the complete address" means an address is only hidden when enough of it appears together. Strict name matching skips one-word names entirely. HOW HIDDEN TEXT LOOKS Choose between a label that names what was hidden, a plain [hidden], or solid blocks. The last two give away less about what was there in the first place. THEMES Light, dark, or follow your system. ALSO INCLUDED A BUILT-IN TEST PAGE Generates sample text from your real saved details in several different formats and runs the same engine on it, so you can confirm everything works before you go live rather than finding out the hard way. ENCRYPTED BACKUPS Export your setup to a file and drag it back in on another computer or a fresh browser profile. The file stays encrypted, so it can only be opened with your PIN or recovery code. UNDO ON DELETE "Forget my data" gives you a few seconds to undo before it becomes permanent. REPORT A BUG OR SUGGEST A FEATURE Both are available from inside the extension, along with a diagnostics summary that describes your settings only and never includes any of your saved details. There's a private email route for anything you'd rather not post publicly. BUILT TO BE USABLE Screen reader labels throughout, visible keyboard focus, and reduced motion support for anyone who needs it. WORTH KNOWING BEFORE YOU INSTALL It works on text. An address inside a screenshot, a map image, or a video cannot be detected. No tool can do that reliably, and anything claiming otherwise is overselling. It cannot change your IP address, as described above. It needs permission to run on all sites, because your details can appear on any of them and there's no fixed list to narrow it to. That access is used only to compare page content against what you saved, in memory. Nothing about the pages you visit is stored, logged, or transmitted. Free. No account, no subscription, no upsell.
