Practice speaking with video captions: repeat a sentence, record yourself, and review saved phrases. No account required. Practice speaking with sentences from a video. VideoSpeak opens beside your video. Choose a caption, replay its section, repeat it aloud and record yourself. Add a meaning or your own example, then save the phrase for later review. Features: • Read visible YouTube captions or active HTML5 subtitle tracks. • Import SRT or WebVTT subtitles for a full timed transcript. • Replay or loop a short section and adjust video speed. • Record and listen to your voice, up to 60 seconds at a time. • Compare typed or optionally transcribed words with the original sentence. • Save phrases with notes and fixed review intervals. • Export phrases for Anki or back up your library as JSON. No account is required. Saved phrases stay on your device, and local recording does not upload audio to VideoSpeak. Browser speech transcription is optional. It requires your consent and may send audio to your browser's speech-service provider. Word matching compares text; it does not assess pronunciation, accent or fluency. YouTube caption capture collects captions as they appear during playback and uses approximate timing. Protected players, embedded video frames and live streams may not support timed replay. You can import matching SRT or VTT files as a fallback. Netflix support is not verified. Automatic translation is not included. To begin, open a video, enable captions and click the VideoSpeak toolbar icon. You can also try the sample phrases to explore recording, word comparison and phrase review.
