Maktaba adds a local-first management layer to Google Gemini, allowing you to categorize and retrieve chat links in flow without sacrificing data privacy. CORE FUNCTIONALITY: 📂 Hierarchical organization: Move beyond linear history with folders tailored to specific research workflows or projects. ⚡ Flexible chat capture workflows: Save chats in the way that fits your current task: * Quick save: Use a quick save button to capture your active session alongside tags and notes without breaking your flow. * Contextual add: Use the folder "+" button to file a chat into a specific folder. * Link import: Use the "🔗" icon to add Gemini chat URLs directly to your library. 🏷️ Metadata enrichment: Categorize sessions with searchable tags and custom annotations—Maktaba only stores these identifiers, chat titles, and direct links, not the full conversation content. 🔍 Advanced search: Locate specific insights instantly using a filtering engine that supports tags, exact phrases, and term exclusions. ↕️ Custom sorting: Organize folder contents by chat title, the date added to your library, or the date of your last organizational edit. 📤 Universal portability: Export your organizational structure and chat links to JSON for backups, CSV for analysis, or Markdown. PRIVACY & DATA CONTROL: 🔒 Metadata-only extraction: The extension only accesses chat titles and URLs to build your library; it does not read, store, or transmit the internal content of your AI conversations. 🏠 Local-only storage: Maktaba operates entirely within your browser environment.
