Select text in the Facebook composer and a small Formatly toolbar appears. Choose a style, apply it to your selection, and keep writing. No need to leave the page or open another editor. 18 TEXT STYLES Formatly includes: • Bold • Italic • Bold Italic • Sans • Sans Bold • Sans Italic • Sans Bold Italic • Monospace • Script • Bold Script • Fraktur • Bold Fraktur • Double-struck • Small Caps • Circled • Fullwidth • Underline • Strikethrough The most commonly used styles stay on the main toolbar. The rest are available from the Styles menu. SMART CHARACTER COUNTING Character limits can vary between platforms, and styled Unicode characters can affect how text is counted. Formatly provides platform-aware character counting where supported, helping you understand the space your formatted post uses before you copy it. MULTILINGUAL TEXT, KEPT INTACT Formatly accepts text from different writing systems and does not transliterate or replace unsupported characters. Unicode styling is available where suitable styled characters exist. For scripts without corresponding styled Unicode characters, Formatly leaves the original text unchanged. Your: • Bangla • Hindi • Arabic • Hebrew • Thai • Chinese • Japanese • Korean • Greek • Cyrillic • and other text can remain intact alongside styled characters. Emoji, line breaks, punctuation and mixed-language text are preserved. SMART PROTECTION Formatly protects important parts of your text when applying styles. Hashtags, @mentions and links can be preserved rather than blindly transformed, helping them continue to work as intended. Styles that are not suitable for particular characters or scripts are not unnecessarily offered. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Formatly is designed to keep your writing on your device. • No account or sign-in • No server required for formatting • Your text is processed locally • No ads • No analytics or tracking • Your unpublished drafts are not uploaded Your writing stays on your computer rather than being sent to a formatting service. IMPORTANT TO KNOW Formatly uses Unicode characters to create the appearance of styled text. It does not add true rich-text formatting to platforms that only accept plain text. Because of that: • Some decorative Unicode styles may not display correctly on every device or font. • Styled text may have accessibility limitations. Use decorative styles selectively, especially for important information. • Styled hashtags may not behave like normal hashtags, which is why Formatly protects them by default. • Unsupported writing systems remain unchanged instead of being converted into unrelated characters. • Underline and Strikethrough may not be suitable for every script or character. PERMISSIONS Formatly requests only the permissions needed for its features: • Storage — to save settings and, where enabled, local draft data. • Facebook — to provide the formatting toolbar inside supported Facebook post composers. The Facebook integration is designed to work with text you actively select for formatting. Formatly does not need access to your feed, profile, messages or cookies. WHERE IT WORKS The in-page formatting toolbar currently works on Facebook. Text created or styled in the Formatly editor is ordinary Unicode text, so you can copy and paste it wherever you write.
