Speed-read any article in a focused full-screen overlay — words flash one at a time at your pace, with the ORP letter highlighted. Read faster, stay focused. Focus Speed Reader turns any article into a calm, full-screen reading session. Instead of dragging your eyes back and forth across lines of text, it flashes one word at a time at a fixed point on the screen — a technique called RSVP (Rapid Serial Visual Presentation). Your eyes stop moving, distractions fall away, and you can comfortably read well above your normal pace. HOW TO USE IT 1. Open any article or web page. 2. Click the Focus Speed Reader icon (or press Alt+Shift+R). 3. The page text appears one word at a time in a distraction-free overlay. Press Space to play or pause. (Tip: highlight a passage first and it will read just your selection.) FEATURES • One-word-at-a-time RSVP reading with a highlighted ORP (optimal recognition point) letter, so your eyes lock onto a single focal point. • Smart article detection — it finds the main content and skips menus, ads, headers, and footers automatically. • Adjustable speed from 60 to 1200 WPM, with a live slider and Up/Down arrow nudges. • Optional "Ramp" mode that gradually accelerates you to a faster pace (off by default, so your chosen speed stays steady unless you ask for it). • Natural pacing — slightly longer pauses on long words and at the end of sentences for better comprehension. • Full keyboard control: Space (play/pause), ← / → (jump back/forward 20 words), Up / Down (speed), Esc (close). • Remembers your preferred speed between sessions. • A keyboard shortcut (Alt+Shift+R) to start reading instantly. PRIVACY No account, no tracking, no ads, and no servers. The extension only reads the page you're on when you click it, shows that text back to you, and never sends anything anywhere.
