Description
Toolkit for AEP Web SDK engineers. Validate Events, inspect Batch Failures, and analyze implementations with AI. The ultimate AEP Web SDK debugger. Validate XDM Events, inspect batch failure logs, and get AI-powered fixes. Stop guessing what's in your XDM payload. The AEP Web SDK Engineer Toolkit is the essential extension for any digital analytics engineer, implementer, or developer working with Adobe Experience Platform. This toolkit provides seven powerful tools in one, completely free: a real-time Event Debugger, a Tags Override panel for swapping Adobe Launch environments on the fly, an AI-powered TagAI assistant, Advanced Schema Validation, an API-driven Batch Inspector with trend charts, dataset browsing, and AI Insights, a Satellite Inspector for reading live Adobe Launch data element values, and a Launch Console for live Adobe Launch/alloy debug output - designed to save you hours of debugging time. Now with full Dark Mode support - the extension automatically matches your system theme, or you can set Light/Dark manually in Options. KEY FEATURES --- Event Debugger --- See your AEP Web SDK events (/interact, /collect) in real-time. This tool is a modern replacement for the classic Adobe Analytics debugger, built specifically for XDM payloads and the AEP Web SDK. - Capture All Beacons: Reliably intercepts both fetch and sendBeacon requests. - Grouped by Page: Events are automatically grouped by the page they fired on for easy analysis. - Clean & Searchable UI: View XDM payloads in a clean, collapsible tree. Search all field names and values with Regex support. Click any value to copy it instantly. - Save & Share Searches: Save your complex search queries to your history for one-click reuse. - Datastream Badges: Each captured event shows the datastream ID it was sent to, with a best-effort resolved datastream name and a consistent color per datastream so you can spot events from different datastreams at a glance. --- Tags Override --- Switch the Adobe Tags (Launch) property or environment on any site without touching the page's source code - perfect for testing a dev or staging library on a live production site. - Property & Environment Picker: Connect your Adobe I/O credentials once and the extension fetches all your Tags properties and their environments automatically. - Domain-Wide or Page-Only: Apply the override to just the current page, or to every page on the domain so it persists as you navigate. - Smart Redirect: Intercepts the live adobedtm.com script request and serves your chosen environment's embed URL in its place - no page edits required. - CSP Override: Optionally strip Content-Security-Policy headers from the page so the override loads even on sites with strict security policies. - Debug Mode Toggle: Enable Adobe Launch's built-in debug logging with one click - sets sdsat_debug in localStorage and activates _satellite.setDebug() on the page, so you see rule firing and data element evaluation in the console without any manual steps. --- TagAI: Your Implementation Assistant --- TagAI is a conversational AI assistant built directly into your browser. Have a back-and-forth conversation about the Adobe Launch library on any site you're viewing - TagAI remembers what you've already asked and builds on it. Bring your own Google Gemini or OpenAI API key to use TagAI - it's free, you just need your own key from Google or OpenAI. - Full Conversation Mode: Hold a multi-turn dialogue with the AI. Ask a question, get an answer, then dig deeper - TagAI retains context across your entire conversation so you never have to repeat yourself. - Context-Aware: TagAI reads the live Adobe Launch (Data Collection) configuration on the page - including Rules, Data Elements, and Custom Code - to give you accurate, site-specific answers. - Saved Chats: Every conversation is saved with an auto-generated title so you can pick up where you left off. Pin important chats so they always stay at the top. - Suggested Follow-Ups: After each answer, TagAI suggests relevant follow-up questions to help you dig deeper without having to think of what to ask next. - Background Processing: AI responses keep streaming even if you close the popup. Reopen it and your conversation will be waiting. - Your Own API Key: Use your own Gemini or OpenAI API key for unlimited requests - no subscription, no usage limits imposed by the extension. - Export Answers: Copy responses to clipboard, download as Markdown, or save as PDF for documentation and team sharing. --- Advanced Schema Validation --- Move beyond simple JSON viewing. Our validation engine automatically checks your live XDM payloads against your official AEP schema, right in your browser. - Per-Tab Schema Selection: Select the active schema for each browser tab from a simple dropdown in the popup. Perfect for multitasking across different projects or sandboxes. - Automatic Schema Matching: Automatically applies the correct schema if the event's meta:altId matches a schema you've imported. - Find Errors Instantly: - Type Mismatch: Highlights fields sent as the wrong type (e.g., string instead of integer). - Missing Required Fields: Warns you if a required field (like _id or timestamp) is missing from the payload. - Unmatched Keys: Flags any fields you're sending that do not exist in your schema, helping you spot typos or outdated implementations. - Custom Field Titles: Toggle between friendly schema "Titles" (e.g., "Page Views") and the raw field names (e.g., web.webPageDetails.pageViews.value). - Download Events: Export all captured events for a page to JSON or CSV. --- Batch Inspector & AI Insights --- Stop guessing why your AEP batch failed - or whether it's failing at all. The Batch Inspector connects directly to the AEP Catalog Service and Data Access APIs across three views: Batch Trends, Browse Datasets, and Batch Details. - Batch Trends: A stacked bar chart of successful vs. failed records per day for any dataset, over the last 7 days by default or a custom range up to 14 days. Click any bar (or table row) to jump straight to the batches behind that day's numbers. - Browse Datasets: Search or pin your frequently-used datasets, then browse its batches with status and date filters, pagination, and one click on a Batch ID to pull its failed-record detail. Export the batch list or trend data to CSV for reporting. - Batch Details: The original one-click flow - the extension finds Batch IDs in the AEP UI and turns them into clickable links. Click one to securely pull the actual failed event logs from the AEP API. - Smart Summary View: Don't read raw JSON. The inspector summarizes thousands of errors, grouping them by error message, field path, and the most common invalid values. - AI-Powered Fixes: Click the AI button next to any error group to get an instant analysis. The AI examines the failed payloads and your site's live Adobe Launch configuration to provide a clear Likely Cause, Debugging Steps, and a Proposed Solution. --- Satellite Inspector --- See what Adobe Launch actually knows about the page right now - no more typing _satellite.getVar('Name') into devtools by hand. - Live Data Element Values: Automatically discovers every data element on the page and shows its current value via _satellite.getVar(), refreshed on demand. Filter by name, and click any value to copy it. - Visitor ID (ECID): Resolves the Experience Cloud ID whether the site uses the classic Experience Cloud ID Service extension or the AEP Web SDK (alloy.js) - with an AMCV cookie fallback for standalone Visitor.js implementations. - Environment & Cookie Lookup: See the active Launch environment (development/staging/production) and look up any Adobe-managed cookie by name. - Read-Only by Design: Only ever reads page state - never fires rules, beacons, or other side effects. Nothing is transmitted anywhere; it all stays in your browser. --- Launch Console --- See Adobe Launch and alloy's own debug console output without ever opening DevTools - captured live, right in the popup. - Live Capture: Automatically captures Adobe Launch's own rocket-emoji and "[alloy]"-prefixed debug lines the moment Debug Mode is on, streamed straight from the page's console into the popup as they happen. - Source Filtering: Check or uncheck exactly which sources you want to see (alloy, Experience Cloud ID Service, Adobe Client Data Layer, Custom Script, and more) - remembered per site you visit. - Search, Sort & Expand: Filter by message text or source, flip between oldest-first and newest-first, and expand any truncated line to see its full detail. Sort order and expanded rows are remembered per tab. - Preserve Log: Just like Chrome DevTools, the console clears on navigation by default - check "Preserve log" to keep captured lines across page loads. - Export: Download the captured log as a CSV for sharing or documentation. - Stays Local: Captured console lines never leave your browser - nothing about their content is sent anywhere. --- Multi-Client Credential Profiles --- Consultants and agencies supporting multiple clients no longer have to swap credentials by hand. The Adobe API Credentials tab now supports named, switchable profiles. - Full Workspace Isolation: Each profile keeps its own Adobe I/O credentials, imported schemas, tenant IDs, batch history, and access tokens - completely separate from every other profile. - One-Click Switching: Pick the active client from a dropdown in Options; the rest of the extension (Batch Inspector, Schema Management, Tags Override) automatically follows the active profile. - Add, Edit, or Remove Anytime: Credential fields only appear when you're adding or editing a profile, keeping the page uncluttered the rest of the time. --- Schema Management --- Managing schemas for multiple clients and sandboxes is now simple, all from the Manage Schemas tab. - Fetch Schemas: Enter your Adobe I/O credentials in the Adobe API Credentials tab, then click "Fetch Schemas" at the bottom of Manage Schemas to pull your sandboxes and import all your ExperienceEvent schemas with one click. - Manual Import: Expand the collapsible "Add New Schema Manually" section to paste JSON or upload a schema file. The tool intelligently merges all standard field groups (experienceevent-web, experienceevent-device, commerce, search, etc.) automatically. How to Use 1. Event Debugger: a. Install the extension, open the popup on a page with the AEP Web SDK, and events will appear. b. Go to Options to import your schemas. c. Satellite Inspector: a. Open the extension on a page running Adobe Launch or the AEP Web SDK. b. Switch to the "Satellite Inspector" tab - data elements and Visitor ID load automatically. c. Type in the filter box to find a specific data element, or click Refresh to re-read the page. d. Click any value to copy it to your clipboard. 6. Launch Console: a. Enable Debug Mode from the Tags Override panel (Event Debugger tab), or the site's own _satellite.setDebug(true). b. Switch to the "Launch Console" tab - captured debug lines appear live as you interact with the page. c. Use the source checkboxes, search box, or sort/expand controls to find what you need. Check "Preserve log" to keep entries across page navigations. --- Privacy & Security --- Your credentials and data are secure. - Adobe I/O Credentials: Stored only on your local computer using chrome.storage.local. They are never transmitted to any server except Adobe's. If you use multiple credential profiles for different clients, each profile's data (schemas, tenant IDs, batch history, tokens) is kept fully separate. - Datastream Lookup: To show a resolved datastream name on captured events, the extension makes a best-effort, read-only call to Adobe's edge.adobe.io using your credentials. If it fails, only the datastream ID is shown. - AI API Keys (Gemini, OpenAI): Stored only on your local computer. They are sent directly from your browser to Google or OpenAI when you request an analysis. - No Unnecessary Data Collection: This extension does not collect or transmit your browsing data, event data, or credentials to any third-party server beyond the services you explicitly initiate (Adobe APIs and your chosen AI provider). - Anonymous Usage Analytics: We send anonymous, aggregated feature-usage events (e.g., which tab you opened, whether you toggled Debug Mode) to Google Analytics via a random installation ID, along with a country-level location resolved via Cloudflare (never your raw IP), so we know which features to invest in and where our users are. These events never include page URLs, XDM/event content, batch or schema content, AI questions, or credentials. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
