Workflow toolkit for Synthesis PACS with exam warnings, impression helpers, message alerts, cache tools, and Mac numpad fixes SynthTools (formerly Synth Beep & Glow) adds fast mic feedback, report automation, right-panel workflow tools, and practical PACS utilities for Synthos. If you like this extension, consider buying me a coffee: https://buymeacoffee.com/markjonesama ## Features - High beep when the mic turns on, double low beep when it turns off. - On-screen glow while the mic is active. - Beep and glow toggles are independent. - Customizable glow color. - Mic Off Noise with selectable type: Pink, White, or Brown, plus volume control. - Auto Impression +: beep when auto-impression finishes. - Auto Impression +: auto-scroll to the Impression section and select the first bracketed text for quick editing. - Auto Impression +: optional Default AI Prompt Context toggle and prompt field that inserts saved `^^context^^` immediately after `<<IMPRESSION:>>` before Auto Impression runs. - Indications Highlight: highlight bracketed INDICATIONS text in the report. - Indications Highlight: optional top helper toast. - Indications Highlight: shared color picker and transparency control. - Indications Read Aloud: optional first-activity trigger that skips the open delay and reads indications after the first mouse click or key press on the exam page, including activity inside the linked /viewer/ or /eUnity/ window. - Missing Breast Density Warning: optional warning for mammography reports. Detects a mammogram from the EXAM: field so it works with any report template, scans for a BREAST DENSITY: section, and shows a red banner next to the indication toast if it is missing. Includes an optional Block Sign Buttons sub-toggle to disable Sign & Next and Sign & Close until breast density is added, plus an Ignore button to dismiss the warning and sign anyway for the current exam. - Accessibility: global color-vision modes for Protanopia/Deuteranopia and Tritanopia that adjust priority colors and fixed warning UI. - Assigned-To-Me Marker: optional left marker and assignee-name highlight for exams assigned to the current user, with purple styling in color-vision modes. - Priority Colors: optional priority colors for Stat, Critical, Trauma, and Stroke exams, applied to the worklist priority pills and to the whole priority tile, MRN included, in the reading page exam header. Off by default. - Critical Support Default toggle: auto-deselect WITH SUPPORT on load so it does not stay selected by default. - Reading Exam List: optional default-on hiding for Unmatched and Scheduled exams in the exam detail side list. - Already Assigned Warning: warn if the exam is assigned to another radiologist while the Exam Information panel is open. - Exam Locked Warning: optional warning when an exam is locked. - Report Editor Font Size: up and down arrows in the side panel that resize the report text in 0.1em steps, from 0.5em smaller to 1.0em larger. Defaults to no change and applies to the current report as well as prior and comparison reports. - Audit Trail Diff Check: highlights what changed between Origin Value and New Value on every report save in the audit trail, with removed text struck through in red and added text underlined in green. On by default, adjusts colors in the color-vision modes. - Message Footer Pulse: optional footer pulse for unread messages. - Tab Highlights: tint the Communicate, Support Request, and Tasks worklist tabs with a soft priority color when their counter is above zero, using muted shades of the Stroke red, Stat orange, and Trauma yellow so they sit easily on the mostly-grey interface. Optional Green Active Tab toggle recolors the site's white active-tab line green so the current worklist tab stands out. Independent toggles for each tab and for Green Active Tab. Off by default. - Optional Better Footer Buttons toggle for radiologist exam footer labels on Exam Options, Worklist, Sign & Close, Sign & Next, and Skip, with highlighted Sign/Skip action borders. - Cache Viewer toggle for Synth PACS. - Hard Refresh and Clear Data buttons for quick troubleshooting. - Reset SynthTools Settings button to restore extension defaults without clearing Synth data. - Apply Update button to clear Synth data and apply SynthTools updates from the update page or in-app banner. - Mac numpad fix for Synth shortcut keys. ## Version History 3.5.1: Priority Colors now also color the reading page. The priority tile in the exam header, the priority word and the MRN below it, picks up the same Stat, Critical, Trauma, and Stroke colors as the worklist priority pills, including the color-vision mode shades and patterns, so the priority is obvious while reading and not just in the list. Routine is left alone. It follows the existing Priority Pill Colors toggle, so there is no new setting. Added Report Editor Font Size. Up and down arrows in the SynthTools side panel resize the report text in 0.1em steps, from 0.5em smaller to 1.0em larger, defaulting to no change so nothing looks different until you use it. The size applies to the current report and to prior and comparison reports, and it persists across exams, reloads, and machines. Fixed the Apply Update button hanging on "Applying..." with no explanation: if Chrome had discarded or frozen a background Synth tab, the step that clears that tab waited on it indefinitely and stalled the whole update. Unresponsive tabs are now skipped after a few seconds and the button reports what happened instead of hanging. 3.5.0: Added Audit Trail Diff Check. The audit trail now highlights exactly what changed between Origin Value and New Value on every report save: removed text is struck through in red and added text is underlined in green, with adjusted colors in the color-vision modes. On by default with a side-panel toggle. Performance improvements across the extension so it stays light during long reading sessions. Removed the Right Panel Override (Default Right Panel) feature entirely because it caused too many issues. The Already Assigned Warning no longer depends on it and now works whenever the Exam Information panel is open. 3.4.3: Bug fix release. Fixed Missing Breast Density Warning detection: it previously only recognized a mammogram when the report contained the exact text MAMMOGRAPHY <<FINDINGS:>>, so reports built from any other template were never checked. Detection now reads the EXAM: field, which is filled in from the order and is consistent across templates, so any exam titled MAMMO, MAMMOGRAM, or MAMMOGRAPHY is checked, including diagnostic mammograms. Added an Ignore button to the missing breast density banner that dismisses the warning and re-enables Sign & Next and Sign & Close for the current exam; the ignore is scoped to that exam and resets on navigation or reload. Fixed Hide Unmatched so it also hides prior exams labeled Scheduled, and renamed the side-panel toggle to Hide Unmatched & Scheduled to match. Fixed an accessibility issue where the breast density banner was hidden from screen readers. 3.4.2: Added Tab Highlights. When a worklist tab's counter is above zero, the tab is tinted with a soft priority color: Communicate uses a muted STROKE red, Support Request a muted STAT orange, and Tasks a muted TRAUMA yellow, toned down to sit easily on the grey interface. An optional Green Active Tab toggle recolors the site's white active-tab line green so the current worklist tab stands out. A new Tab Highlights side-panel section adds independent on/off toggles for the three tabs and Green Active Tab, all off by default, and the counter highlights follow the existing color vision modes. 3.4.1: Right Panel Override navigation fix. When Default Right Panel is enabled, SynthTools now applies your chosen panel once as an exam opens and then stops, so navigating to a different right-panel tab afterward is no longer overridden back to the default panel after a short delay. 3.4.0: Added Missing Breast Density Warning for mammography reports. When the report contains MAMMOGRAPHY <<FINDINGS:>> but no BREAST DENSITY: section, SynthTools shows a red banner next to the indication toast, with side-panel toggles to enable or disable the warning and to optionally disable Sign & Next and Sign & Close until breast density is added. Extended Indications Read Aloud first-activity detection so clicks and key presses inside the linked viewer windows, including the eUnity viewer iframe on tenant subdomains, also count as activity. Fixed the footer message notification pulse so it only triggers on the Messages button and ignores unrelated footer counters such as Linked Exams. 3.3.3: Added a Read on First Activity option for Indications Read Aloud. When enabled, SynthTools ignores the open delay and reads the indications after the first mouse click or key press on the exam page. 3.3.2: Added Hide Unmatched for the reading exam list. When enabled, Unmatched prior exam list items are hidden on exam detail pages. Fixed Indications Read Aloud so it mutes page mic input while speaking (fixes the mic picking up dictation from read-aloud indications). Fixed Default AI Prompt Context editing so spaces are preserved while typing. Removed the Impression Renumber Tool and its side-panel controls due to Synth redesign. 3.3.1: Added Default AI Prompt Context for Auto Impression. When enabled in SynthTools, a saved prompt is automatically inserted immediately after `<<IMPRESSION:>>` inside double carets before Auto Impression runs, so the same extra AI guidance can be reused without typing it every time. - suggested by Daniel Nudelman 3.3.0: Added labeled radiologist exam footer actions with a default-on Better Footer Buttons toggle. The three-dot menu now shows as Options, the list action shows as Worklist, and Sign & Close, Sign & Next, and Skip now have visible text with colored borders to stand out more clearly. 3.2.10: Impression Renumber Tool fix, Read Aloud Indications, and performance enhancements. Adds optional indication read aloud with voice and delay controls, improves the impression renumber float, and reduces unnecessary background work for smoother use. Read Aloud Indications suggested by William Boushka 3.2.9: Added support for ca.synthos.health alongside us.synthos.health. 3.2.8: Global color-vision accessibility update with Protanopia/Deuteranopia and Tritanopia modes for priority pills, warning UI, and danger actions. Adds an optional Assigned-To-Me Marker for exam-list rows and a Reset SynthTools Settings action. Critical priority is now more clearly red-orange. 3.2.7: Priority Colors new feature for Stat, Critical, Trauma, and Stroke priority pills. Also includes exam locked tooltip flash fix, indications highlight clipping fix, and Apply Update buttons that clear Synth data and reload main Synth tabs. 3.2.6: Assigned warning changed to Inflight status only and new Exam Locked Warning. Exam Locked Warning suggested by Daniel Nudelman. 3.2.5: Strengthened default right panel for slow loading pages. 3.2.4: Default Right Panel and Already Assigned Warning. Assigned Warning suggested by Daniel Nudelman. 3.2.3: SPA routing bug fix. 3.2.2: Indications fixes and critical support reliability updates. 3.2.1: Bug fixes, tone changes, and message notification feature. 3.1.1: Default values updated. 3.1: Added Mic Off Noise, Auto Impression +, Indications Highlight, and Critical Support Default. 3.0: Renamed to SynthTools and added PACS utilities. 2.1: Added glow color picker. 2.0: Added screen glow and independent toggles. 1.0: Mic Beep only. ## Notes IMPORTANT: Apply Update / Clear Data After a SynthTools update, use the Apply Update button on the update page or in the Synth banner. This clears Synth site data, applies the update, and reloads main Synth tabs. You may be logged out and need to sign in again. For troubleshooting, open SynthTools and use the red Clear Data button. This clears cached Synth site data and may also log you out.
