The extension has no content scripts and makes no network requests. The link or text you pick is handed straight to the generator page as a normal web address, and the QR code itself is drawn in your browser. On first install it opens its guide page on wiserwork.org once, so you know how to use it; that page is an ordinary web page and the site privacy policy covers it. PERMISSIONS, EXPLAINED - contextMenus - adds the right-click entry. This is what the extension is. - activeTab - reads the address of the tab you are on, and only when you click the toolbar button, so the button can encode the page you are looking at. No access to any website is requested in advance, so the extension cannot read pages in the background. GOOD TO KNOW QR codes hold a limited amount of data, so very long text may not encode - the generator will tell you if that happens.
