On supported AI chat sites, it can read the text you type and user-selected files or images locally in your browser to detect sensitive patterns. Scanned content is not sent to AI Privacy Cleaner servers. Sensitive text, file contents, OCR output and findings are not sent to developer-operated servers. The extension has no developer analytics, advertising SDKs or user accounts. Custom protected terms are stored locally on the device; selected non-content preferences may use Chrome sync storage. Important limitations: Automated detection can miss information or produce false positives. Some compressed PDF text, XMP metadata, scanned PDF pages, handwriting, very small image text and unsupported formats may not be fully inspected or cleaned.
