Blocks distracting sites until you earn them by spending real time on the study sites you choose. Resets every day. FocusGate keeps your distracting sites shut until you have actually done the work. You pick what counts as work and how long it should take. You pick what stays locked until then. Nothing unlocks early. HOW IT WORKS 1. Add what you must spend time on, and how long. A website, one exact page, a YouTube channel or playlist, or a file on your own computer. 2. Add the sites to keep locked. Games, social media, whatever pulls you away. 3. Step 2 stays locked until step 1 is finished. Everything resets each day at a time you choose. WHAT COUNTS AS WORK - A whole website, like a language-learning or course site - One exact page, which also locks the rest of that site so you cannot wander off - A specific YouTube channel or playlist, so lectures count and the rest does not - A PDF, a lecture file or a whole folder from your own computer CHECKS THAT KEEP IT HONEST An open tab is not the same as studying, so FocusGate can check that you are really there. Every check is optional and off until you turn it on: - Stillness: the timer pauses when you stop moving the mouse and keyboard - Camera presence: the clock only runs while a face is at the camera. Detection happens entirely on your own device. No image or video is ever saved, uploaded or sent anywhere. - Eyes on screen, for reading and lectures - Window must fill the screen, so you cannot park the work page to one side - Media must be playing, for video lectures STAYING HONEST WITH YOURSELF - A password guards the settings, so you cannot undo your own rules in a weak moment - Strict mode freezes your rules during hours you choose - Points and a daily streak for finishing everything - Optional: keep chosen apps on your own Android phone locked too, until the same day's work is done, using your own MacroDroid webhooks PRIVACY Everything is handled on your own device. There is no account, no analytics, no ads and no trackers. FocusGate reads the addresses of your open tabs only to decide whether a page should be blocked or should be earning you time, and that never leaves your computer.
