A full-featured offline text and code editor powered by Monaco, running in a full browser tab with auto-save, multi-tabs # Local Text Code Editor Browser: A Professional IDE Experience Right in Your Browser In the modern era of web development and software engineering, the lines between desktop applications and browser-based tools are blurring faster than ever. Introducing the **Local Text Code Editor Browser**—a sophisticated, lightweight, and privacy-focused development environment designed to run natively within your browser. Whether you are a seasoned developer, a student learning to code, or someone who needs a quick and reliable way to edit text files on the fly, this extension provides a robust solution without the overhead of a traditional IDE. ## The Power of Local-First Development One of the most significant advantages of the Local Text Code Editor Browser is its commitment to your privacy and data security. Unlike many online "cloud editors" that require you to upload your source code to their servers, our extension utilizes the latest Browser File System Access APIs. This means you can open entire folders directly from your local hard drive, edit files, and save changes back to your machine—all without a single byte of your data ever leaving your computer. In an age where data breaches and privacy concerns are at an all-time high, having a tool that respects your local environment is paramount. No cloud accounts, no subscriptions, and no external dependencies. Just you and your code. ## Comprehensive Feature Set for Modern Developers Despite its lightweight footprint, the Local Text Code Editor Browser is packed with features that cater to the needs of professional developers: ### 1. Advanced Syntax Highlighting Reading and writing code is a visual task. Our editor comes equipped with intelligent syntax highlighting for a wide variety of programming languages, including JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Python, and more. By clearly distinguishing keywords, strings, comments, and numbers, the editor helps you spot errors faster and understand complex logic at a glance. ### 2. Intuitive File Tree Sidebar Managing large projects requires efficient navigation. The built-in sidebar panel provides a familiar file tree view of your opened directory. Easily switch between files, explore folder structures, and maintain a high-level view of your project architecture. The sidebar is designed to be unobtrusive yet always available when you need it. ### 3. Optional Vim Keybindings For the power users who swear by the efficiency of Vim, we've got you covered. The Local Text Code Editor Browser includes an optional Vim mode that can be toggled with a single click. Enjoy the speed of modal editing, including standard movement keys (h, j, k, l) and basic commands (i for insert, x for delete, Esc for normal mode). It’s the perfect blend of modern browser convenience and classic terminal-inspired productivity. ### 4. Real-time Status and Feedback Stay informed with a clean, minimalist status bar that provides real-time updates. Track your cursor position (Line and Column) and receive immediate feedback on file operations like loading and saving. The "Ready" indicator ensures you always know the current state of your editor. ### 5. Seamless UI and Modern Aesthetics The editor features a dark-themed, high-contrast interface inspired by modern professional editors like VS Code. It is designed to reduce eye strain during long coding sessions while maintaining a sharp, professional look. The layout is fully responsive within the extension popup, providing a spacious environment for your code even in a compact window. ## Why Choose Local Text Code Editor Browser? - **Zero Latency:** Since everything runs locally in your browser, there is no network lag.
