Automatic browser session recovery and snapshots. Save, organize, and restore Chrome windows and tabs with automatic local backups and private session recovery. Pick up where you left off. Session Saver keeps local recovery points for your Chrome windows and tabs, helping you recover your workspace after an accidental closure, browser restart, or unexpected interruption. You can also create named snapshots for projects, research, work, travel planning, or anything else you want to return to later. WHAT YOU CAN DO Automatic recovery points Session Saver periodically saves your open browser windows and tabs. It can also create recovery points when your browser workspace changes. Automatic snapshots are deduplicated, so the extension does not keep saving identical browser states. Manual snapshots Save your current window with one click, or choose to save: • the current window; • all open windows; • highlighted tabs. Add an optional name to make important sessions easier to find later. Restore what you need Restore an entire session, one window, or only selected tabs. Session Saver preserves tab order, pinned tabs, active tabs, and supported Chrome Tab Groups whenever possible. After restoration, you will see how many tabs were restored or skipped. Organized session library Open the full session library to: • search by session name, tab title, or URL; • filter recent, pinned, manual, automatic, and imported sessions; • inspect every saved window and tab; • rename or pin important sessions; • export or delete sessions. Safe retention rules By default, Session Saver keeps: • the latest 100 scheduled automatic snapshots; • the latest 50 change-triggered recovery points. Manual, imported, and pinned sessions are never removed automatically. Retention limits can be adjusted in the settings. Import and export Export an individual session as a JSON file for backup or transfer. Imported files are validated before they are saved. You will see a preview before importing multiple sessions, and unsupported or invalid data will be rejected or reported. Personal settings Choose the options that work for you: • light, dark, or system theme; • customizable automatic backup interval; • optional save notifications; • configurable retention limits. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Your sessions are stored locally in Chrome using the browser’s built-in storage. Session Saver does not require an account, cloud synchronization, analytics, or external servers. Your browsing data stays on your device.
