Description
Watch Netflix and supported Prime Video series together by syncing playback via Huddle rooms. Watch Netflix together with friends — perfectly in sync, with chat and live room status on the page. Prime Video series are supported too, as an optional extra you turn on yourself. WHAT IT DOES • Sub-second sync — play, pause, seek, and playback speed are mirrored across every viewer in the same room • Auto-follow on episode change (Netflix) — when one viewer picks the next episode or a new title, everyone else's tab navigates with them • Built-in chat overlay on the watch page — no separate window • Live room status in the extension popup: who's watching, what's currently playing, and a one-click Copy invite link for the room URL • No account needed — pick a Room ID and share it SUPPORTED SERVICES • Netflix — full support, enabled out of the box • Prime Video — series episodes, and only after you enable it. Huddle asks for access to primevideo.com the first time you turn it on, and never before. Prime movies and the ad-supported tier have not been verified yet. Prime's own page can keep showing the previous episode's address after you move to the next one, so on Prime, Huddle will not move your tab for you. When the room changes episode it tells you which one to open instead of guessing — and if it cannot confirm what you are watching, it stops syncing rather than syncing you to the wrong thing. HOW IT WORKS 1. Open a Netflix /watch/... page, or a Prime Video title once you have enabled Prime in the popup 2. Click the Huddle icon, paste a Room ID (or an invite link from wehuddle.tv), and Connect 3. Share the same Room ID with friends — they install Huddle too and join the same room 4. Press play. Everyone watches in sync REQUIREMENTS • Each viewer needs their own account on the service they are watching. Huddle does not stream any content — playback uses each viewer's own session and Widevine DRM • A Chromium-based desktop browser PRIVACY • Huddle sends play/pause/seek events, the current watch URL, and chat messages to our server (api.wehuddle.tv) to keep the room in sync. • On Prime Video it also sends a short label for the episode — the season and episode number plus a fingerprint of the series name — so the room can tell whether everyone is on the same episode. We do not send the series name itself. To be precise rather than reassuring: the fingerprint is a fast, non-cryptographic checksum, not an anonymisation measure. See the privacy policy at wehuddle.tv/privacy for the full description. • Huddle does NOT access your streaming accounts, credentials, cookies, email, or browsing history outside the active watch page. • Netflix access is built in and limited to https://www.netflix.com/watch/*. Prime access is optional, is only requested when you enable it, and is limited to https://www.primevideo.com/*. Every other site is untouched. • No third-party analytics; no ads. LIMITATIONS • Streaming-service UI updates can occasionally break sync until the extension is updated. If sync stops after a redesign, check the Chrome Web Store reviews for a status update or reload the page. • Audio/subtitle track and per-user volume aren't shared — each viewer picks their own. • On Prime Video, Huddle does not move your tab between episodes; it tells you which episode to open.
