ScheduleTick: Single-Purpose Countdown & Schedule Timer Overview: ScheduleTick is a minimalist, single-purpose Chrome extension designed exclusively to help users create simple countdown timers and schedule alerts for their daily tasks. It provides a lightweight, distraction-free way to keep track of upcoming deadlines directly from your browser. Core Functionality (What this extension does): The sole purpose of this extension is to allow users to set a specific date and time for a task, and then display a live countdown until that time is reached. Once the countdown timer hits zero, the extension immediately alerts the user via a browser notification and an audio alarm. How it Works (Step-by-Step Usage): Open the Extension: Click on the ScheduleTick icon in your Chrome toolbar to open the popup interface. Create a Schedule: Enter the name of your task (e.g., "Client Meeting") and select your desired target date and time. Start the Countdown: Click the "Start" or "Save" button. The extension will immediately begin calculating the time remaining. Track the Time: You can view the active, live countdown (Days, Hours, Minutes, Seconds) at any time by simply clicking the extension icon again. Get Notified: When the exact scheduled time is reached, ScheduleTick will trigger a standard Chrome desktop notification and play a brief audio alert to notify you that your scheduled event has started. Features: Live Countdown Display: Accurately shows the remaining time for your scheduled event inside the extension popup. Audio & Visual Alerts: Uses Chrome's native notification system and an offscreen audio player to alert you when the timer finishes. Local Storage: Saves your active timers locally on your device, ensuring your countdown continues flawlessly even if you restart your browser. Single-Purpose Design: Strictly focused on setting a time and counting down to it. No complex menus, no account creation, and no data tracking. Privacy & Permissions: ScheduleTick operates entirely locally on your device. We use the Alarms API to track the time accurately, the Notifications API to alert you when time is up, Offscreen to play the alarm sound, and Storage to keep your timer active between browsing sessions. No personal data is ever collected or sent to external servers.
