Read Panes puts 2 to 4 web pages side by side in a single Chrome window so you can read, scroll, and compare them without switching tabs or windows. Compare pages side by side in 1×2 or 2×1 layouts for free, or unlock more grids (1×3, 3×1, 2×2, and 1×4) with Pro so you can line up two articles, three sources, or four references at once. Open any URL in each pane's address bar, or pick a page straight from your open tabs to drop it into the split view. Switch layouts in one click to match the way you're reading — two columns for a deep comparison, a 2×2 grid for a quick survey (Pro), or four across for skimming (Pro). Save sessions of the pages you had open and restore the exact set of panes later, so you never lose a research thread. Resize panes with draggable dividers and let Read Panes remember each layout's URLs (Pro). How it works: Click the Read Panes icon or press Alt+Shift+R to open the split reader in a new tab. Pick a 1×2 or 2×1 layout (or unlock 2×2, 1×3, and more with Pro) and type any URL into each pane's address bar, or choose a page from your open tabs.
