Merge, split, reorder, rotate and convert PDFs entirely on your machine. Nothing is ever uploaded. Sheaf does PDF page work in one place, without sending your files anywhere. Most PDF tools upload your document to a server, do the work there, and send it back. That is why they are split into a dozen separate tools — each one is a round trip. Sheaf runs entirely inside your browser, so it does not need that shape. ONE GRID INSTEAD OF A DOZEN TOOLS Drop in PDFs and images and every page becomes a tile in a single grid. Select the pages you want, act on them, and export once: • Merge — drop in two or more files and their pages land in the same grid • Split and extract — select the pages you want, export the selection • Delete pages — select and press Delete • Reorder — drag tiles; drag a selection to move it as a block • Rotate — select and press ] or [ • PDF to JPG or PNG — export as images, at 72, 150 or 300 DPI • JPG or PNG to PDF — drop images in and export as a PDF There is no tool to choose first, and no exporting and re-importing to do two things to the same document. GENUINELY PRIVATE, NOT JUST PROMISED • The extension requests no permissions at all. Chrome's install screen will confirm it. • It makes no network requests. Nothing to disable, no setting to trust. • Nothing is uploaded, logged, or stored. Your files are read in memory and released. • It works offline, including on a plane or an air-gapped machine. This matters most for the documents you would never upload in the first place — bank statements, contracts, medical records, ID scans. CONVENIENCES • Undo and redo, up to 50 steps • Full keyboard control, with a built-in shortcut reference (press ?) • Light and dark, following your system setting • Handles large documents: page previews render as you scroll rather than all at once HONEST LIMITATIONS • Password-protected PDFs are not supported yet. Sheaf tells you so rather than producing a broken file. • There is no compression. Doing it well needs server-side tooling, so it is left out rather than shipped badly. • Form fields and some annotations are not carried across when pages are copied. • Your work is not saved between sessions. Closing the tab discards the grid. Sheaf is free, and has no accounts, no upsells and no analytics.
