Description
Essentials4GPT is a minimal Chrome extension adding key fixes and features to ChatGPT for better usability. Essentials4GPT is a lightweight Chrome extension that makes ChatGPT smoother, faster, and more convenient to use. It adds a carefully selected collection of fixes and productivity features that feel like natural parts of ChatGPT—without cluttering the interface or adding unnecessary bloat. KEY FEATURES • Custom model profiles Configure separate ChatGPT model and thinking-power preferences for single-click and double-click actions on the extension icon. Quickly open the right model, reasoning level, and Temporary Chat mode for the task at hand. • Batch conversation management Select multiple conversations from your history and archive or delete them together. Shift-click makes selecting a complete range quick and easy. • Push-to-talk transcription Use a configurable keyboard shortcut to record your voice and transcribe it directly into the ChatGPT composer. Clear visual indicators show when recording or transcription is active. • Temporary-session maintenance ChatGPT temporary sessions can accumulate internal session keys and eventually cause loading problems. Essentials4GPT can automatically keep them under control and provides a manual cleanup command from the extension icon’s context menu. • Cleaner interface Hide selected notices and interface elements that interrupt your workflow, including workspace-limit banners. • Improved content handling Additional quality-of-life enhancements make working with pasted content, documents, keyboard controls, and the ChatGPT interface more comfortable. LIGHTWEIGHT BY DESIGN Essentials4GPT focuses on useful improvements instead of trying to redesign ChatGPT. Features are designed to remain discreet, responsive, and consistent with the existing interface. There is no external dashboard or complicated setup. Install the extension, choose your preferences, and continue using ChatGPT normally. LOCAL SETTINGS Extension preferences are stored locally in Chrome using the browser’s extension storage system. Permissions are used only to provide the features described above, such as interacting with ChatGPT pages and maintaining temporary-session keys. BUILT FOR AN EVOLVING INTERFACE ChatGPT changes frequently, sometimes without notice. Essentials4GPT is actively adapted whenever possible to remain compatible with the latest interface. However, temporary incompatibilities may occur after major ChatGPT updates. Essentials4GPT is an independent project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by OpenAI.
