Surf Softener is a browser extension that aims to empower users to personalize the friction of their browsing experiences. Users can customize a list of URLs which, upon load, will slowly blur out of focus when the mouse is motionless, or when no keys are pressed. This affords the user a subtle break from otherwise seamless, entrancing browsing experiences. The intensity and onset of the page blur are available as parameters for users to adjust. Additionally, a set of "snooze" timers allow users to pause the extension for a given amount of time.
