Lightning-fast spotlight search to query, inspect, and manage Salesforce metadata, Apex code, custom fields, and permissions. Quick Metadata Search for Salesforce is a lightning-fast, Spotlight-style productivity extension designed for Salesforce developers and administrators. Bypassing the multi-step navigation of the standard Salesforce Setup UI, it allows you to query, preview, and edit metadata in real-time. KEY FEATURES BY TAB: • ALL TABS SEARCH: Concurrent, parallel search across all metadata types with instant keyboard shortcuts and setup page redirection. • FLOWS: Browse Flow metadata, view version history lists, copy version XML, inspect active/draft status badges, and open directly in Flow Builder. • APEX CLASSES: Fetch source code with client-side syntax highlighting, run unit tests directly from classes, edit code inline, and deploy compiler changes back to the Org. • APEX TRIGGERS: Inspect trigger events, edit trigger code, search within codebase, and compile/deploy changes. • CUSTOM FIELDS: Check labels, types, relationship targets, formulas, and picklist values. Analyze active user Field-Level Security (FLS) access, edit FLS permissions directly, and view component dependency references. • PERMISSION SETS & PROFILES: Explore system licenses and descriptions. View and edit Object CRUD permissions, Field-Level Security, Apex Class accesses, Visualforce Page accesses, and Custom Permission grants. • CUSTOM PERMISSIONS: List Profile and Permission Set accesses, and edit custom permission assignments in real-time. • LIGHTNING COMPONENTS: Browse LWC and Aura bundles, navigate component files, edit code inline, deploy changes, and trace component-controller dependencies. • DEVELOPER CONSOLE: Write and run Anonymous Apex scripts, configure debug trace headers, and isolate System Debug logs. • APEX TESTS RUNNER: Execute selected test suites or run all unit tests, track pass/fail stats, check runtime durations, and inspect stack trace failures. • USER ASSIGNMENTS: Bulk assign or revoke permission sets to active users with support for 10,000+ records, staging counts, and UI font-scaling controls. • FLOW FIELD FINDER: Search custom field references in flows, collapse older versions inside folders, and copy flow source XML. • VALIDATION RULES: Inspect active status, error locations, error messages, and copy rule formula expressions. • CUSTOM LABELS: Browse categories, values, names, and copy label text instantly. • EMAIL TEMPLATES: Review subjects, folders, HTML/Text bodies, and trigger test emails straight to your personal inbox. • CUSTOM METADATA: Inspect Custom Metadata Types (CMDT) API names and jump to Salesforce configuration screens. • CUSTOM SETTINGS: View list and hierarchy custom settings names and redirect to record management pages. • STATIC RESOURCES: Review resource filenames, content MIME-types, file sizes, and modification dates. • GROUPS & QUEUES: List public groups and queue records with direct member listings (User vs. Group badges).
