Hide recommendations, related videos, Shorts, and other YouTube distractions so you can watch with intent. Purpose View for YouTube™ helps you use YouTube as a place to find and watch what you intended, without recommendation-driven distractions. By default, it: - Replaces home recommendations with a purpose-first search screen - Hides the left sidebar - Hides related videos on watch pages - Hides Shorts links and embedded Shorts shelves - Hides recommendation cards shown during and after videos - Turns off autoplay for the next video Search results, video playback, titles, descriptions, comments, and channel pages remain available. Open the extension popup to switch each feature on or off individually. Changes are applied immediately to open YouTube tabs. ## Privacy - No browsing history, search terms, or text entered in the purpose field is collected or stored - Only feature on/off preferences are stored locally in Chrome - Text entered in the purpose-first search field is sent to YouTube only when you search - No data is sent to the developer or to any developer-operated server - No analytics, advertising, or data sales ## Notes - Hiding related videos also hides live chat when it appears in the same right-side area. - Changes to YouTube's interface may temporarily affect some hiding features. - Requires Chrome 105 or later.
