Description
Play video/audio files with subtitles, sync control and conversion. Media Studio opens the video and audio files Chrome refuses to. Drop a video/audio file onto the player and it plays — no upload, no conversion step, no separate desktop app. The container is taken apart inside the browser tab and handed to the decoders Chrome already has, so playback starts in a second or two and nothing about your file ever leaves the machine. SUBTITLES THAT ACTUALLY BEHAVE Subtitles out of sync? Nudge them in 0.1-second steps, or type an exact millisecond offset. Set the font size, color, background opacity and edge style once and every file after it looks the same. Drop a .srt straight onto a playing video to add it. Text in a legacy encoding is detected automatically, with a manual override for the files that guess wrong. BUILT FOR REAL FILES • Audio track picker — pick the commentary, the dub or the original, labelled by language, codec and channel layout • Play queue — drop a whole folder's worth of episodes and it advances through them • Resume — reopen a file and it starts where you stopped • Recent files — one click from the toolbar popup reopens what you watched last, with no re-picking • Mini player — pops the video, the controls and the subtitles out into a floating window that stays on top while you work • Stereo balance — a true balance control, not a pan: full left plays the left channel alone • Brightness — lifts dark scenes without washing out the subtitles • Speed, frame-accurate seeking, full keyboard control, light and dark themes CONVERT Turn a file Chrome can't open into an MP4 it can, using your own machine's encoders. Output is VP9, VP8 or AV1 video with Opus, FLAC or PCM audio; audio can be exported on its own. Nothing is uploaded to convert it. PRIVACY — AND WE MEAN IT LITERALLY Media Studio makes no network requests at all. Not for analytics, not for license checks, not for subtitle lookups. It asks for no access to your browsing, your tabs, or any website. Your files are read from disk by the player tab and never sent anywhere. Settings and your recent-files list stay in local browser storage on this device. WHAT IT DOES NOT PLAY — READ THIS BEFORE YOU BUY Chrome has no decoder for these, and Media Studio ships no decoder of its own, so files that need them will not play. The player tells you exactly which codec is missing rather than failing silently. If your library is mostly Blu-ray rips with DTS or AC3 soundtracks, this version will not play them. Support for these formats is planned for a later release. REQUIREMENTS Chrome 116 or newer, on a desktop machine.
