Track & save tokens on Claude and ChatGPT. Live budget warnings, smart compression, context snippets, and Save & Switch. Stop wasting tokens. Start sending smarter. Tokenomics is a free browser extension that sits alongside Claude.ai and ChatGPT, helping you use AI more efficiently — fewer tokens sent, shorter responses, lower costs, and no more hitting context limits mid-conversation. ✂️ Compress & Insert Type your message in the Tokenomics widget instead of directly into the chat. Before sending, it automatically: Strips filler words, hedging phrases, and repeated words Restructures rambling prompts into clean Task / Context format Adds a concise-mode instruction to reduce verbose AI replies Shows exactly how many tokens were saved vs what you originally typed 📊 Live Token Budget Bar See how much of your context window you've used — colour-coded in real time: 🟢 Good (0–60%) 🟡 Medium (60–80%) 🟠 High (80–95%) 🔴 Critical (95%+) — widget border turns red so you can't miss it 📈 Per-Conversation Savings Report Every conversation tracks: Messages sent via the optimizer Input tokens saved (compression) Output tokens saved (concise mode) Total saved for this chat 📌 My Context Snippets Save reusable context you type every session — your tech stack, role, project background, brand voice. One click inserts it compressed into your next message. Never retype the same context again. 💾 Save & Switch Hit the context limit? One click compresses your entire conversation history and copies it to your clipboard. Paste it into any AI — ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, Claude — and continue exactly where you left off. 📉 Savings Dashboard The toolbar popup tracks your savings over time: Saved Today / Last 7 days / All time Per-service breakdown (Claude vs ChatGPT) 7-day bar chart How it works Tokenomics reads message text from the page DOM, estimates token counts using a character/word blend, and applies compression rules locally in your browser. No data ever leaves your device — everything is stored in chrome.storage.local. Important: Token counts are estimates based on message length, not exact billed counts from Anthropic or OpenAI's tokenizers. For exact billing, check console.anthropic.com or platform.openai.com/usage. Supported platforms Claude.ai ChatGPT (chatgpt.com and chat.openai.com)
