Description
Screpy SEO Extension for on-page SEO and backlink analysis. Screpy SEO Extension is the free, official browser extension for Screpy, the SEO analysis software. Open any public webpage, click the extension, and explore its most important on-page SEO, technical, content, link, backlink, and Google search result signals. No account, membership, or sign-in is required. Have you ever opened a webpage and wondered whether its title is too long, its canonical points to the right place, its headings make sense, or its links actually work? Screpy SEO Extension helps you answer those questions without copying the URL into another tool or leaving the page you are reviewing. Instead of giving you one unexplained score, it separates the real page values into clear sections. WHAT CAN SCREPY SEO EXTENSION HELP YOU FIND? With Screpy SEO Extension, you can quickly investigate questions such as: • Is the page title present and is its length reasonable? • Does the page have a useful meta description? • Is there one clear H1, followed by a logical heading structure? • What canonical URL does the page declare? • Does the canonical target return a valid response? • Can robots.txt and the website sitemap be reached? • Is JSON-LD structured data present? • Are important Open Graph and Twitter Card tags available? • Which links are internal, external, nofollow, sponsored, or UGC? • Do the links on the page return successful HTTP status codes? • Are images missing alternative text? • Which words appear most often in the visible page content? • What backlink and referring-domain information is available for the domain? • Where do organic results appear on the Google results page you are viewing? Go directly to the part of the analysis that matches your question; you do not need to run every check every time. OFFICIAL SCREPY SEO EXTENSION Screpy is an SEO analysis platform for understanding websites and search visibility. Screpy SEO Extension is its official browser extension, bringing useful page-level checks into your everyday browsing workflow. The extension works independently. You do not need to create a Screpy account, connect a project, enter payment information, or start a membership. Install it, open a regular webpage, and begin reviewing the page. It is a free SEO Chrome extension designed for quick, focused work. REVIEW THE PAGE ALREADY OPEN IN YOUR BROWSER Screpy works as an on-page SEO checker for the active tab. This means the analysis is based on the webpage you are currently viewing. It is useful when: • You are about to publish a new article. • A developer has released a new landing page. • You want to check whether an SEO fix was implemented correctly. • You are reviewing a product or category page. • You are comparing your page with a publicly accessible competitor page. • A title, canonical, link, image, or social preview does not look right. • You want a fast technical SEO audit of one specific page. The page stays in front of you while its signals are organized inside the extension. META INFORMATION The Meta section helps you understand how the page describes itself to search engines and other services. Review the page title, meta description, robots-related metadata, language signals, and other detected meta information. Screpy makes missing values, duplicates, unusual lengths, and conflicting signals easier to notice before publishing. FAVICON Check whether the page declares a favicon and review the detected favicon information used in browser tabs, bookmarks, and other surfaces. CANONICAL URL The Canonical section answers more than “Does a canonical tag exist?” You can review: • The declared canonical URL • Whether it points to the current page or another page • The HTTP status of the canonical target when available Notice canonicals that point to redirects, unavailable pages, unexpected domains, or the wrong URL version. HEADINGS See the H1-H6 headings detected on the page and review how the content is structured. Notice missing or repeated primary headings and scan the hierarchy used by articles, landing pages, ecommerce templates, and reusable content blocks. Screpy shows the real structure; you decide whether it is clear and appropriate. CONTENT AND KEYWORDS The Content section gives you a practical view of the text found on the page without reducing writing quality to a single number. The separate Keywords section shows terms detected from the visible content. This can help you answer a simple but important question: does the language on the page naturally reflect the subject the page is meant to cover? This is not a keyword research database or search-volume forecast. It inspects content already published on the active page. URL AND HTTP RESPONSE The URL section helps you review the current address and structural details that may deserve attention, such as unusual path segments. The HTTP section shows the page response and status information. This can reveal a redirect, an error, or unexpected response behavior even when the page appears normal in the browser. Use these details when checking a deployment, investigating indexing, or verifying the served page version. ROBOTS.TXT Open the Robots section to check whether robots.txt is reachable and review the directives Screpy can detect. Screpy can parse directive-like content returned with a soft-404-style response and display it with a warning, helping you notice a misconfiguration without hiding the returned content. SITEMAPS Review sitemap candidates and sitemap references discovered from the available page and robots signals. Confirm whether expected sitemap resources are declared and reachable. This is a focused check, not validation of every URL in a sitemap. STRUCTURED DATA Screpy detects JSON-LD structured data on the page and lists the schema types it finds. You can open each detected node and inspect its raw JSON. Confirm that a schema block is present after a release and inspect the values being published. Screpy cannot guarantee rich-result eligibility because search engines apply additional requirements. LINK ANALYSIS The Links section collects links from the active page and organizes useful details such as: • Internal links • External links • Email links • On-page anchor links • Link relationship attributes • HTTP response status for checked URLs Status codes are requested when the link analysis is opened. Use it after publishing, updating navigation, moving content, changing a domain, or editing a page with many references. HIGHLIGHT LINKS DIRECTLY ON THE PAGE Screpy can highlight links directly on regular webpages with colors you choose. Each category can be enabled separately: • Internal • External • Dofollow • Nofollow • Sponsored • UGC • Target="_blank" • Anchor • Email • Phone Your choices are saved locally in Chrome extension storage. Highlights are temporary visual overlays; they do not edit the website or affect other visitors. IMAGES Review images found on the page and inspect useful markup-level information, including alternative text. Spot images that may need attention, especially where one template repeats an issue. Screpy reports page markup and does not invent file-size estimates. SOCIAL SHARING TAGS The Social section reviews Open Graph and Twitter Card metadata used by many social and messaging platforms when a link is shared. Inspect titles, descriptions, URLs, card settings, and image information to catch missing or inconsistent tags before sharing. ACCESSIBILITY SIGNALS Screpy reviews selected markup-level accessibility signals, including page language information, image alternatives, and accessible labeling indicators. These checks point toward elements that deserve attention. They are not a certification or replacement for manual accessibility testing. FEEDS AND EMAILS The Feeds section looks for feed-discovery signals, including RSS, Atom, and JSON Feed-style references when they are available. The Emails section collects addresses and mail links detected on the page. BACKLINK INFORMATION WITHOUT LEAVING THE DOMAIN Open the Backlinks group to request available backlink information for the domain in your active tab. Depending on the data available, Screpy can show: • Backlink overview metrics • Referring domains • Referring pages • Top anchor texts • Top referring countries • Referring top-level domains • Link types and attributes • Available backlink records and source details This makes Screpy useful as a backlink checker Chrome extension for reviewing your site or a publicly accessible competitor. Backlink databases do not all contain the same links. Results depend on the coverage and freshness of Screpy’s backlink data source, so totals may differ from other tools and should not be treated as every link that exists on the web. UNDERSTAND THE GOOGLE RESULTS PAGE YOU ARE VIEWING On supported Google result pages at google.com, Screpy adds organic result position numbers beside supported results. On later results pages, numbering follows the current offset, helping you understand whether a result appears around position 4, 14, or 24. You can also save domains with custom colors. Matching domains are highlighted in supported result cards, helping you recognize your website, a client, a competitor, or another domain you are researching. These features describe the results currently visible to you. Screpy does not run scheduled searches, store historical rankings, or promise that another person will see the same result order. FREE TO USE — NO ACCOUNT REQUIRED The Screpy browser extension is free. You do not need: • A Screpy membership • A paid subscription • An account • A sign-in • A connected website project Install the extension on regular public HTTP and HTTPS webpages and use it whenever you need a quick answer. HOW TO USE SCREPY 1. Open the public webpage you want to inspect. 2. Click the Screpy SEO Extension icon. 3. Choose an Onpage, Backlinks, or SERP section. 4. Review the information for the active page or domain. 5. Enable optional page-link or domain highlighting when it helps your workflow. Chrome does not allow extensions to inspect every kind of browser page. Internal Chrome screens, extension pages, and certain protected or nonstandard URLs may not be analyzable. PRIVACY: WHAT HAPPENS TO PAGE DATA? Screpy uses the active page URL and HTML to perform the on-page analysis you request. The current extension does not write that URL or HTML to its local extension storage. Your link-highlight preferences and Google domain-highlight rules are stored locally on your device so they remain available after you close the extension. Technical checks may request public HTTP responses, robots.txt, sitemaps, canonical targets, and selected links. The Backlinks section sends the active domain to Screpy’s backlink service to return the requested report. For full and current details, review the Screpy Browser Extension Privacy Policy linked from the Chrome Web Store listing. WHY DOES THE EXTENSION REQUEST THESE PERMISSIONS? Active tab Used to inspect the webpage you choose to analyze. Scripting Used to collect the active page information needed for the analysis and to apply optional visual highlighting. Storage Used to save your highlight colors, enabled link types, and domain-highlight rules locally. Website access Used to analyze public HTTP and HTTPS pages and perform requested technical checks such as HTTP status, robots.txt, sitemap, canonical target, and selected link requests. WHAT SCREPY DOES NOT CLAIM TO DO Screpy is a browser-based page inspection tool. It does not: • Crawl every URL across an entire website • Change your website or publish content • Write SEO content for you • Run scheduled rank tracking • Keep a historical ranking database • Guarantee search-engine rankings • Replace a complete accessibility audit The extension provides evidence about the active page and domain; you decide what needs deeper investigation or change. WHO IS SCREPY FOR? You do not need to be an SEO expert to use Screpy. It can help: • Website owners who want clearer answers about a page • Content writers checking an article before publishing • SEO specialists reviewing implementations • Developers verifying a release • Agencies checking client and competitor pages • Ecommerce teams reviewing product and category templates • Marketers inspecting landing pages and social metadata Beginners can follow the separated sections, while experienced users can go directly to detailed values.
