Companion for Shoplazza's Athena AI assistant: opens product pages in its own window, using the store admin you're signed in to. Athena is the browser companion for Athena, the AI assistant in your Shoplazza store admin. When you ask Athena to bring a product into your store, this extension opens that page in your own browser, reads the product information on it, and hands the result back so Athena can draft the product for you to review. It is not a standalone scraper: every action comes from a request you typed in an Athena conversation, and it needs a Shoplazza store admin account. HOW TO TURN IT ON Open your Shoplazza admin (any page under /admin), click the Athena icon in the Chrome toolbar - the panel shows the admin it detected - then click Connect. There is no address or key to type in. WHY IT RUNS IN YOUR BROWSER, WITH DEVELOPER-LEVEL ACCESS On most catalog sites the real product detail - price tiers, variant SKUs, stock, the full image set - is not in the page's HTML; the page fetches it separately as JSON, and a server-side fetch from a data center gets blocked or gets a stripped page. Loaded in your own Chrome, with your own session, it comes back the way you would see it. Reading that JSON needs Chrome's DevTools Protocol, the one interface that can read the body of a network response - something ordinary extension APIs cannot do. That is why the extension asks for the debugger permission, and why Chrome shows its debugging notice. WHAT IT DOES ON A PAGE Opens the address from your request, reads the rendered text, reads what the page's own API calls return, screenshots its working window, and clicks an element when a step needs one. Where the data is not laid out as text, it also runs a short read-only extraction script in that page and sends back what it returns; the Athena service composes that script for the site in question, because catalog sites all store their product data differently. Progress appears step by step in your conversation. WHAT YOU SEE, AND HOW TO STOP IT Athena opens its own separate window to work in, so it never takes over the tab you are using, and Chrome shows its standard debugging notice while the extension is attached. That notice is Chrome being honest about what this extension can do, and we would rather you saw it. Click Disconnect to stop Athena receiving further work; that choice is remembered, so it does not reconnect on its own, including after you quit and reopen Chrome. To end the debugging session right away, close the window Athena opened. WHEN IT IS ACTIVE Nothing is sent anywhere before you click Connect, and a fresh install contacts nothing. On your own Shoplazza pages it runs a small presence script so the admin can tell it is installed and knows which store you are in; that stays on your machine. WHAT IS SENT, PLAINLY This is not a local-only tool. The text of the pages you asked about, the API responses captured in the working window, the values the extraction script returns, the screenshots, and the URL and title of the tab being driven are sent to Shoplazza's Athena service, which turns them into product data you can review and import. Athena is an AI assistant, so that content is also processed by the AI model provider that powers it, as a contracted processor. It is not sold and is not used for anything but your request. Responses loaded in the Athena window are captured while a task runs, so please do not sign in to unrelated accounts there. WHAT IT WILL NOT DO Athena's rules forbid placing orders, making payments, changing passwords and touching account security settings, and anything that changes a site's state is confirmed with you first.
