Passively learn English or Spanish while you browse: a flashcard cycles through words, and page words get swapped for translations. Ambient Spanish turns your everyday browsing into passive language practice — no separate app to open, no daily "lesson" to remember. HOW IT WORKS A small flashcard appears in the corner of the page and cycles through English/Spanish word pairs on your schedule, and/or a few words on the page itself get swapped for their translation (hover to see the original, click to toggle back). You choose which, or use both together. LEARN IN EITHER DIRECTION Switch between English → Spanish (for English speakers learning Spanish) and Spanish → English (for Spanish speakers learning English) — same 800+ word list, mirrored either way. BUILT FOR ACTUAL LEARNING, NOT JUST EXPOSURE - Three difficulty levels (easy / medium / hard) you can mix and match - Quiz mode: hide the answer until you click "Show answer," then self-rate "Knew it" / "Didn't know" — your ratings directly adjust how often each word resurfaces - Spaced-repetition weighting favors words you've seen less or gotten wrong - Built-in pronunciation (with optional auto-speak) using your browser's speech engine MAKE IT YOURS - Add your own custom word pairs - Permanently block words you already know - Pause the extension on specific sites - Drag the flashcard anywhere on screen - Export/import your settings and progress as a backup file PRIVACY Ambient Spanish has no backend server and makes no network requests of its own.
