It enables seamless automated test recording and playback directly within your browser workspace. By acting as a secure bridge, the helper allows the Test Garden dashboard to run test scripts, inspect page interactions, and handle authentication flow mapping on your target staging and production websites. The "storage" permission is only used to manage session status locally, and all data is cleared when the session ends.
