Gets smarter as you send. Confirms only when something looks off: first-time recipients, look-alike mix-ups, forgotten BCC. No more "confirm every time." Traditional misdelivery-prevention tools force a confirmation on every send. Repeated identical confirmations quickly become a click ritual, and the one mistake that matters slips through. Missend Guard takes the opposite approach: it interrupts only when something looks off, and never gets in the way of your normal sends. The dialog appearing is itself the signal that something is unusual. ■ 7 checks (each can be toggled with one tap) • First-time recipients — catch autocomplete slips and typos on the spot • Look-alike addresses and domains — flags typos like "gmial.com" by comparing against your past recipients and major mail providers • Unusual recipient — detects mix-ups between people you actually email (Saito picked instead of Sato) from the asymmetry in your sending history • Greeting/recipient mismatch — you wrote "Dear Mr. Sato" but no Sato is among the recipients; matches kanji variants and romanized addresses too • New face in a subject thread — someone joins a thread with the same subject who was never part of it • First-time organization combination — is someone from Company B mixed into a mail meant for Company A? • Many external recipients in To/Cc — suggests BCC before you leak everyone's addresses at once ■ It gets quieter the more you use it Confirmed recipients are learned, and the same confirmation never appears twice (only the BCC suggestion repeats, to prevent leaks). Within days it converges to: nothing for your usual recipients, a stop only when something feels wrong. Mistakenly learned recipients can be individually forgotten or fully erased from the options page at any time. ■ Keyboard sends can't slip through Ctrl+Enter / ⌘+Enter sends are checked as well. ■ Internal mail stays frictionless Recipients on your own domain (the same domain as your From address) are not checked, so casual internal mail is never interrupted (this exemption is disabled on freemail accounts such as Gmail). ■ Moves with you to a new PC Learned recipients are, by default, also stored in your own Google account's Chrome Sync and carried over to a new PC automatically (can be turned off; display names are never synced). ■ Privacy and performance • The only permission is "storage"; runs on mail.google.com only • Nothing is ever sent to the developer or any third party (the extension contains no networking code) • No background process and zero idle load; the pre-send check takes under 1 ms • Open source (MIT License): https://github.com/cysecukazch/missend-guard ■ Setup is just installing it Works out of the box with no configuration.
