Clip highlights and thoughts onto any web page, then summon your margin back onto the page anytime. A ZephyrCode tool. Every web page has a margin now — yours. MARGIN turns the web into something you can write in. Highlight a passage, add your thought, and it stays attached to that exact page — ready to be summoned back, shared with one reader, or read by your AI. CLIP ANYTHING, FROM ANYWHERE • Select text on any page and press ⌥⇧M (Alt+Shift+M) — the quote and your note land in that page's margin. • Or use the toolbar button, or right-click → "Clip to MARGIN" — on a selection or the whole page. • Three kinds of notes: a quote (anchored to the exact passage), a note (a thought about the page), or a snippet (longer reference material you paste in). • Nothing to configure: the clip window opens pre-filled with the page, its title, and your selection. SUMMON YOUR MARGIN BACK • Revisit any page you've annotated and press ⌥⇧H (Alt+Shift+H): your saved quotes light up in place, and a slim side rail lists every note you kept there. • Click a note in the rail to jump to its highlight; click a highlight to jump to its note. • Quotes are found even when they span bold text, links, or paragraph breaks — and matching is tolerant of small whitespace changes. • If the page has changed and a quote no longer exists, it's flagged in the rail — never silently lost. • Highlights are painted with the browser's native CSS Highlight API: the page's own code and layout are never modified, and closing the margin leaves the page exactly as it was. YOUR LIBRARY, ANYWHERE • Sign in at margin.zephyrcode.live with a one-time email code — no password to create or leak. • Every page you've annotated in one searchable list, newest first, with note counts. • Open any page's margin to reread it, add longer notes, or tidy up. DISCUSS WITH ONE READER • Mint an email-scoped link to a single page's margin — view-only or can-comment, with optional expiry, revocable anytime. • Your guest needs no account; their comments join the page's timeline, clearly marked as theirs. LET YOUR AI READ IT • MARGIN includes a remote MCP connector: Claude (and other MCP clients) can search your margins, read everything you kept on a page or topic, and file new notes — so "summarize what I've saved about X" actually works. PRIVATE BY ARCHITECTURE • The extension does nothing in the background — no page scanning, no tracking, no analytics, no ads. • It reads the current tab only when you invoke it, and reads exactly three things: the URL, the title, and the text you selected. • It communicates with exactly one server — your own MARGIN account. Notes are visible only to you unless you mint a share link. • Minimal permissions: activeTab and on-demand scripting. It never asks for access to all your browsing. DETAILS • Manifest V3. Keyboard shortcuts are rebindable at chrome://extensions/shortcuts. • A no-install bookmarklet is available for other browsers at margin.zephyrcode.live. • Privacy policy: margin.zephyrcode.live/privacy A ZephyrCode tool.
