On-device AI that folds away duplicate tabs. Understands pages, not just URLs. Private, fast, and it learns from you. Drowning in duplicate tabs? You open a link and it's already open three windows over. You reopen the same Lucid, Figma, or doc library five times a day. TabFold AI fixes that, automatically. Unlike every other "close duplicate tabs" extension, TabFold AI doesn't just match URLs. It uses Chrome's built-in on-device AI (Gemini Nano) to judge whether two tabs are really the SAME page, with a confidence level you control. When it's sure, it folds the out-of-focus duplicate away and keeps you on the tab you're actively using. WHY YOU'LL LIKE IT - Understands pages, not just URLs, so it catches duplicates other tools miss. - You set the confidence: one slider, strict or eager. It is a hard floor. - Fully on-device: no accounts, no servers, nothing leaves your machine. - Keeps the tab you're on: it folds the out-of-focus copy, not the one you're using. - Corrects itself: tell it "Not a match" and it learns, or "Ignore site" to allowlist a domain or a specific page. - See the work: a live activity panel shows every check, its confidence, and the actual URLs. HOW IT WORKS 1. A tab loads. TabFold AI checks it against your open tabs. 2. Exact and near-exact URLs fold instantly (tracking and locale params, #anchors, www, and trailing slashes are ignored). 3. If URLs differ, on-device AI compares titles, metadata, and optionally page text for a same-page probability, then discounts it by URL structure so different sub-pages stay separate. 4. Clears your confidence level? The out-of-focus duplicate folds away and you stay on your tab. Got one wrong? Hit "Not a match" and it learns. 100% ON-DEVICE, PRIVATE BY DESIGN Everything runs locally via Chrome's built-in AI. No telemetry. No tracking. No ads. No network calls. Your settings and learning stay in your browser. Requires Chrome 128+ with built-in AI. Works with URL matching even without it.
