Desktop notifications when a new Facebook Marketplace listing matches your saved search. Uses your own logged-in session. Never miss a new Facebook Marketplace listing again. FBM Alert watches your saved Facebook Marketplace search in the background and sends a desktop notification the moment a matching item is listed. HOW IT WORKS: 1. Type a keyword — "PS5 controller", "IKEA desk" — or paste a facebook.com/marketplace/search URL 2. Optionally cap the max price 3. Get a desktop notification with the item's title and price the moment it's listed FREE PLAN: 1 saved search, checked every 20 minutes. PRO PLAN ($9.99/mo): unlimited saved searches, checked every 10 minutes. A note on how this one works, unlike our other alert tools: FBM Alert checks listings using your own already-logged-in Facebook session in this browser — the same way you'd see them yourself. It never asks for or stores your Facebook password, never touches Facebook's private API, and polling is deliberately kept conservative (never faster than every 10 minutes) rather than aggressive. Built for deal hunters, resellers, and anyone tired of refreshing Facebook Marketplace by hand. PERMISSIONS: - storage — saves your alerts, license key, and match history locally so they persist across browser restarts. - alarms — schedules the periodic background check without keeping the extension running constantly. - notifications — shows the desktop alert when a new listing matches one of your saved searches. - scripting — Facebook Marketplace listing data is not available through a public API; it renders as part of the page after it loads in a real browser. FBM Alert uses chrome.scripting.executeScript to read the already-rendered listing data directly from the page — no data is modified or submitted anywhere. - tabs — required to open and track the loading state of the background browser window FBM Alert briefly uses to load each saved search, and to open the listing page when you click a notification. - host_permissions (facebook.com, fbcdn.net) — facebook.com to load search results using your own logged-in session; fbcdn.net to fetch listing thumbnails for notifications. TECHNICAL NOTE FOR REVIEWERS: FBM Alert briefly opens an unfocused, minimized background browser window, navigates it to your saved search on facebook.com using your own existing session, waits for the page to render, and reads the listing data already present in the rendered page — the same information a person visiting Facebook Marketplace would see. It never calls Facebook's internal GraphQL API and never handles Facebook credentials. If Facebook shows a login page or the check otherwise fails, FBM Alert reports that plainly in the extension rather than silently doing nothing.
