Highlight text on any web page and send it to Claude with an instruction (Explain, Contrary opinion, ...). yaib is a bring-your-own-key (BYOK) browser extension that puts a floating AI action bar on every web page. Highlight any text, pick an action, and the answer streams into a small panel right there — no copy-pasting into another tab, no context switching. BUILT-IN ACTIONS • Explain — clear, concise, jargon defined • Contrary opinion — a fair, steelmanned counterargument • ELI5 — explained like you're 12 • Summarize — the key points as a short list • Fact-check — flags dubious claims and rates how well-supported each is • Let's science this! — finds the evidence behind the claims (no invented citations) • Your own presets — add custom actions with your own instructions BRING YOUR OWN KEY yaib has no server of its own. You add your own API key for one provider, and yaib sends requests directly from your browser to that provider's API — never through us. Supported API providers: OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic, xAI, and OpenRouter. You choose your starting model, and if an answer isn't good enough, one click re-asks the same question on a stronger model from the same provider. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • Your API key is stored locally in your browser and sent only to the provider you chose. • yaib has no backend and collects no data — nothing is routed through us. • Answers render as plain text on the page; the UI is isolated from the page so it can't be styled or scraped by the site you're on. Highlight. Ask. Read. That's it. This extension is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, xAI, or OpenRouter. Product and brand names are used solely to describe API compatibility.
