Scan any page for accessibility issues, explained in plain English for instructional designers. Powered by axe-core, the same accessibility engine used by professional auditing tools, with a translation layer that turns technical findings into plain language you can act on. Course Accessibility Check scans any webpage and flags accessibility issues the way an instructional designer would want them explained: what it means for learners, and how to fix it. No developer jargon, no WCAG success-criterion numbers to decode. Built for L&D professionals who create online learning content, whether that's in your LMS, Rise, Storyline, or custom interactive content built directly in HTML, and want to catch accessibility problems before learners do. What it checks: - Missing or unhelpful image alt text - Heading structure problems (skipped levels, missing top-level heading) - Color contrast - Unlabeled form fields and buttons - Vague link text ("click here," "read more") - Missing page structure that affects screen reader navigation - Videos with no caption track - Audio with no transcript nearby - Embedded third-party videos (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.) flagged for manual caption verification How it works: Click the extension icon, then click Scan. Results are grouped by category and sorted by severity. Click any flagged item to jump straight to it on the page, highlighted so you can see exactly what needs fixing. No more cross-referencing a report against your course while guessing which element it means. Accessible by design: Every interactive element in the popup is fully keyboard-operable, with screen reader announcements for scan status and results. Privacy: Everything runs locally in your browser. No data is collected, stored, or sent anywhere. The extension only reads the page you're actively viewing, and only when you click Scan. Planned for future updates: Platform-specific scanning for LMS platforms and authoring tools like Storyline and Rise, so results focus on your own content rather than navigation and template elements.
