Filter Fox is a privacy-first adult-content blocker for Chrome. It blocks known pornographic and adult destinations before they render, strengthens supported SafeSearch settings, and locally covers likely explicit content on selected search and social-media routes. No account. No subscription. No ads. No cloud scanning. Protection that stays simple: - Blocks more than 219,000 packaged adult domains. - Applies stricter SafeSearch settings to supported Google, Bing, and DuckDuckGo searches. - Adds YouTube restrictions where supported, alongside domain, address, and custom path rules. - Locally covers likely explicit pages or elements on selected supported routes. - Lets you create custom allow and block rules for domains, pages, paths, words, and phrases. - Includes backup, validated import, reset controls, and a harmless local protection test. - Provides controls for correcting false positives and missed content. Private by design: Filter Fox compares website addresses against packaged and user-created rules. On supported routes, it may also inspect limited page signals—such as titles, nearby visible text, labels, link destinations, and image, audio, or video addresses—to cover likely explicit content. That processing happens inside the extension. Inspected signals are not sent to the developer, shared with third parties, or stored as browsing history. Filter Fox includes: No analytics or telemetry. No session replay. No cloud classifier. No advertising or affiliate behavior. No account or sign-in requirement. No remote executable code. Why Chrome asks for site access: Filter Fox needs access to HTTP(S) pages to block known adult destinations, apply your custom domain and page rules, protect already-open tabs after address changes, and run limited local content covering on the supported routes described above. It does not upload page content, inspect arbitrary forms, or monitor unrelated browsing for analytics. Honest limitations: No content filter can identify every new website, image, language, encoding, proxy, or mirror. Filter Fox does not use pixel-level image-recognition AI and cannot guarantee that every explicit item will be detected. Protection applies only to the Chrome profile where Filter Fox is installed and enabled. Private windows require separate browser permission. Filter Fox is not tamper-proof.
