Reads the Danish subtitles already on YouTube, DR TV, Netflix and Disney+ and shows them word by word with a translation. Listening Lab turns the Danish subtitles you are already watching into something you can actually read: highlighted word by word in time with the speaker, with a translation under every line. It was built for people preparing for Prøve i Dansk, but it works on anything Danish that has subtitles. WHAT IT DOES • The subtitle line on screen is highlighted word by word as it is spoken. • Every line comes with one or two translations, in whichever languages you pick from a list of 23, changeable at any time. • Subtitles are drawn over the video itself and scale up in fullscreen, and the full running transcript sits in a panel beside it. • Click any line to jump back and hear it again. • Save the lines worth keeping to a notebook and export it for Anki. WHERE IT WORKS • YouTube videos that have a Danish caption track (manual or auto-generated): the whole transcript appears at once. • DR TV: switch on the player's own Undertekster. • Netflix and Disney+: set the player's own subtitles to Dansk first. The extension reads the subtitles the player is already showing. It does not transcribe audio, does not record anything, and does nothing on pages without a Danish subtitle track. For podcasts and other audio without subtitles, use the free podcast library on danpicbook.com instead. HOW IT WORKS Nothing happens until you click the headphones button. The extension then reads the subtitle text from the player and sends that text to our server to be translated; the translated lines come straight back to your browser. It never downloads video or audio, and never touches copy protection. The subtitle text and the translations are not stored: they are processed and handed back. Your saved lines stay on your own computer. There is no advertising, no analytics and no tracking in this extension.
