Download videos and animated GIFs from Twitter/X XDown is a simple extension that allows you to directly download videos and GIFs from Twitter/X without using any third-party APIs or apps. It sends no data externally and uses Google Chrome’s native Downloads API. It cannot access protected posts or posts that you cannot already view. Animated GIFs are saved as MP4 files because that is how Twitter/X delivers them. After activating the extension, XDown adds a download button to each supported post’s action toolbar, next to the Share button.
