New Tab bookmark grid with 9 card styles, groups, drag-and-drop, and custom backgrounds. LUPX Bookmark — Visual New Tab Turn every new tab into your personal command center. LUPX Bookmark replaces the default New Tab page with a clean, fully customizable bookmark grid — organized the way your brain works, not the way Chrome's bookmarks bar was designed. ────────────────────────────────────────── GROUPS & ORGANIZATION ────────────────────────────────────────── Organize bookmarks into named, collapsible accordion groups — Work, Personal, Reading, whatever makes sense to you. Each group can hold up to 16 bookmarks. Add as many groups as you need and collapse the ones you don't need right now. Drag and drop to reorder both bookmarks and groups on the fly. Choose 1–4 columns for your group layout from the Settings panel. ────────────────────────────────────────── 9 CARD STYLES ────────────────────────────────────────── Pick the look that fits your setup: • Minimal — Clean, borderless cards. Zero distraction. • Glass — Frosted blur effect with soft transparency. • Bento — Solid tiles with depth shadow, inspired by bento grids. • Icons — Square icon-only view, maximum density. • Neon Pink — Cyberpunk pink glow for late-night sessions. • Neon Cyan — Cyberpunk cyan variant with vivid edge lighting. • Soft UI — Neumorphic extruded press effect. • Stamp — Polaroid photo frame aesthetic. • Aurora — Living animated gradient that breathes. ────────────────────────────────────────── BACKGROUNDS ────────────────────────────────────────── Set the background to match your mood: solid color, gradient (with adjustable angle), an image from the built-in wallpaper library, or your own uploaded photo. Light, dark, and system-synced themes are all supported. ────────────────────────────────────────── SEARCH BAR ────────────────────────────────────────── A quick-access search bar sits at the top of every new tab. Switch between Google, Yandex, and DuckDuckGo with a single click — your choice is remembered. ────────────────────────────────────────── SMART FAVICON RESOLUTION ────────────────────────────────────────── Favicons are resolved through a three-step chain: Chrome's internal cache first (instant, works offline), then DuckDuckGo's icon service for broad coverage, then Google S2 as a final fallback. Results are cached locally so your tab loads fast every time. ────────────────────────────────────────── ADDING BOOKMARKS ────────────────────────────────────────── Click the + button in any group, start typing a URL or a keyword, and LUPX suggests matches from your browsing history. Confirm and the bookmark appears instantly — no saving to the Chrome bookmarks bar required. Need to fix a title or URL later? Click the edit icon on any card to update both in place. ────────────────────────────────────────── BACKUP & RESTORE ────────────────────────────────────────── Export all your settings and bookmark groups to a single JSON file, and import it back anytime — on the same machine or a new one. On import, choose to merge with your current setup (matching groups get new items appended, duplicates skipped) or replace it outright. Everything stays local; nothing is uploaded anywhere. ────────────────────────────────────────── PRIVACY ────────────────────────────────────────── All data stays on your device. LUPX does not collect, transmit, or sell any information. The "history" permission is used only to suggest URLs while you type; it is never sent anywhere. Settings and favicon cache are stored locally in your browser. ────────────────────────────────────────── PERMISSIONS USED ────────────────────────────────────────── • storage — save your settings and favicon cache locally • history — suggest URLs from your history when adding a bookmark • favicon — load favicons from Chrome's internal icon cache ────────────────────────────────────────── LUPX Bookmark is open source. Feedback and contributions are welcome.
