Speed-read with RSVP: words flash one at a time with ORP focus highlighting. The words you paste never leave your browser. Speed reader: RSVP rapid reading trainer with adjustable WPM and focus-letter highlighting Speed Reader is an RSVP (Rapid Serial Visual Presentation) reader: instead of scanning left to right across a page, one word (or a small chunk of words) flashes in a single fixed position, so your eyes never have to move. That's the whole trick behind reading faster comfortably. Most of the time spent reading normally is eye movement (saccades), not comprehension. Click the toolbar icon to open Speed Reader in its own tab, not a popup, so your reading session survives you switching tabs or clicking away. Paste any article, document, or block of text, set your words-per-minute, and press Start. FREE, AND GENUINELY USEFUL - Full RSVP playback: paste any text and read it one word at a time. - Adjustable WPM (100-800), remembered between sessions. - ORP (Optimal Recognition Point) highlighting: the pivot letter of each word is tinted and held in a fixed position, so your eye locks onto one stable focal point instead of hunting for where to look on each word. - Full transport controls: Play/Pause, Restart, and step back/forward one word at a time. Keyboard shortcuts work too while the reader is focused: Space to play/pause, arrow keys to step. - A live progress bar, "word N of M" counter, and an estimated time-remaining readout at your current WPM. - Unicode-correct tokenization: handles CJK text, emoji, and accented/ combining-mark characters correctly, not just naive space-splitting. PREMIUM ($5 one-time) - Chunking: flash 2 or 3 words at a time instead of 1, with the dwell time scaled so the effective reading rate stays honest to your configured WPM (chunking never secretly makes the session faster than the number you set). - Smart pacing: long words and sentence/clause endings get a little extra dwell time, plus a gentle warm-up ramp over the first few seconds of each session, so the pace feels natural instead of jarring. - Saved texts with resume: save any pasted text locally and pick up again exactly where you left off, per saved text. PRIVATE BY DESIGN This extension never reads the current tab or any web page; it only operates on text you explicitly paste into its own reader page. It requests exactly one permission, `storage`, used only to remember your WPM/chunk-size/theme preferences and, for premium users, your saved texts and per-text reading position. This extension collects no data of any kind: no analytics, no tracking, no telemetry. The only network traffic it ever makes is a purchase-verification check with ExtensionPay if you choose to upgrade. No subscription, no account required. Pay once, keep the features..
