Your name, tasks, links, daily focus, settings, and custom background are stored in Chrome’s local extension storage on your device. • No Flate account • No Flate backend or cloud database • No analytics or behavioral tracking • We do not collect, sell, upload, or store your personal data on our servers • Only storage and unlimitedStorage permissions — no access to your browsing history, open tabs, or identity Optional online features connect directly to the service required for that feature: weather uses Open-Meteo, shortcut favicons are loaded from DuckDuckGo, and searches go to the search provider you select. These connections use HTTPS. Flate does not proxy these requests through its own server or retain a copy. Flate stays useful offline: bundled wallpapers, local tasks, focus, quotes, links, and settings continue to work without an account or backend. After installing, choose “Keep it” if Chrome asks whether you want to keep the new tab change.
